It's not every day that you get a concert that is high energy and musically amazing from front to back. That's exactly what happened on Tuesday Night (March 6, 2018) when Mainland and the Mowglis invaded the Brighton Music Hall.
Mainland, a NYC based band, opened the show with great spirit and energy. The crowd was almost immediately drawn into experience as the band jumped, danced, and played their way through their opening set. It was obvious that fans of the band were in attendance but even newbies were rocking to the music. It was almost disappointing to see them leave but the news that they would be headlining Great Scott in May was well received by everyone.
After a short wait the Mowglis came out to feed the crowd their particular brand of music filed with love and passion. Dancing through their collection they touch on hits from all of their albums while also treating the crowd to the taste of some new hits. The Mowglis, who always put on an epic show in Boston, cruised through soft ballads inspiring unified love, crushed loud anthems calling for adventure, and mixed in energetic pulses of instrumental mastery. The end of the show and the encore came much too fast but that was only because everyone was having an amazing time.
Both bands should be proud of their growth, their presentation, and their music. They continue to justify being a band worth seeing every chance you get.
