Mighty Mighty Bosstones Hometown Throwdown 22, Night 1 @ House of Blues, Boston - I now know not to take the Mighty Mighty Bosstones lightly. For every 'Rascal King' and 'The Impression I Get' that you will hear night upon night, there is an 'Over The Eggshells', an 'Where You Come From' and an unexpected re-appearance of 'Chasing the Sun Away' which confirms your faith that they aren't going thru the motions even in Year 22 (!!??) of the Throwdown. A piano was featured mid-show during the Bosstones' version of The Dogmatics '(Sure Don't Feel Like) Christmas Time' and a surprise cover of the Rod Stewart's early 70's hit 'Handbags and Gladrags'.

Will the greatest band ever PLEASE have another HTTD!!!

The final night of each Throwdown is always bittersweet as there's no guarantee there will be a next show. Except that the charity raffle giveaway tonight included tickets to the 2020 Crankin & Skankin Fest (date and location TBD). Maybe that was the reason but the boys brought it (again) tonight. A few repeats from Night 1 but still some crazy deep cuts ('Too Many Stars'), oldies ('HowIWas', 'Where'd You Go?') and a surprise 'A Pretty Sad Excuse' following the traditional run closer 'Pirate Ship'). Three nights of great music and a back-and-forth love-fest between band and fans. Let's hope there is another Throwdown next year, and another... and another... and...

Hometown Throwdown whether going one, two or all three nights is easily the best show(s) of the year. The Bosstones never disappoint and it’s always an awesome experience! Then it just gets you excited all over again for next year!

I've been going for ten years now; every year it's a great show. From mixing in new songs to old, if you're going to a Bosstones show, you know you're getting a friendly pit, a good range of fan service for song selections, and a positive message.

Bosstones were so good! Very entertaining, lots of energy. Always love watching dancing guy! They sounded just as good as they did back in the 90's.

Furst time to see the MMBT at Hampton, great show as always. Opening acts were enjoyable though unfamiliar (Sweet Babylon and Bedouin Soundcrash). Bosstones mix was louder but a little more muddy than preceding acts, otherwise an excellent evening.

I have seen the Bosstones Many Many times before... I go to the Hometown Throw down every December and see them whenever they are around (I've seen them at the Casino Ballroom before, as well) but somehow this most recent show was their best! If you love a band that loves music and their fans, the Mighty Mighty Bosstones can't be beat! Simply Amazing!!!!
