THE MAVERICKS IN CONCERT:
Hot on the heels of their celebrated 2013 reunion, the Mavericks are back on the road and ready to rock with their unique brand of neo-country. Featuring the danceable rhythms of Latin music and a hearty helping of brass instruments, the Mavericks don't put on your typical mid-tempo country show. Quite the contrary, these guys like to move, and they expect — and receive — the same from their fans. The Mavericks had audiences on their feet dancing at their 2013 tour dates, and their live shows in 2014 are sure to inspire more of the same.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Formed in Miami in 1989, the Mavericks spent their early days in the city's punk and alternative scene, sharing bills with the likes of Marilyn Manson while developing their uniquely Miami-influenced brand of modern country. Following two early albums, the band hit their stride in 1994 with What a Crying Shame, which peaked at No. 1 on Billboard's Heatseekers Albums chart and landed five singles on the country charts. 1996's Music for All Occasions would prove an even bigger success, scoring them a Top 20 country hit with "All You Ever Do Is Bring Me Down" and a Grammy Award for "Here Comes the Rain." Following the band's split in 2004, lead singer Raul Malo released six solo albums before their eight-year hiatus came to an end with the 2012 announcement of a reunion album and tour.

One of the best concerts I have been to. I loved everything about them. Their music is so clear, I didn't need to wear my ear plugs due to distortion. I would highly recommend the Mavericks, you won't be disappointed. I am a fan ❣️
Great show, as always!! Always love to hear the background of the songs, so wish Raul would have done some more of that. Can you extend the concert time so they can play more of the older songs even though they have a new album???? Can't wait until the next time I see them.
As always, the Mavericks put on another dancing-in-the-aisles show. Raul Malo crooned a mix of old and new songs, and the band performed like never before. The Genesee is a nice venue with pricing that reminds me of when concerts were affordable for everyone. It was so nice to attend a quality concert without having to pay hundreds and hundreds of dollars for crappy seats. But anyways, love me some Mavericks! I cannot recommend this band enough great music and fun times!
As always, the Mavericks were very entertaining. We have now seen them 4 times, and each time is a little different, but always enjoyable. Our small group of people had a very good time.
I enjoyed this performance, awsome. I never seen the Mavericks before and they were great. The Orpheum theatre was great.
The Mavericks never disappoint! Great show! A lot of new songs from their upcoming new release in May! Raul Malo and The Mavericks are the best!
Intimate venue at The Orpheum in Madison. Parking availability was great and right around the corner. The Mavericks did not disappoint. The sound was great and they are masters at showmanship. The crowd was on fire! We had a great time and would go back to see them again!
Second time seeing The Mavericks and what a great show it was. The place was packed with adoring fans. What a great night.
Really enjoyed the Mavericks at the Orpheum. The theater was beautiful, the sound system excellent and the Mavericks on key and definitely enjoyed putting on a show.
These guys played a solid 2+ hours. Talented and a tight knit group considering there were a few "replacements", at least new to us. These guys check their egos at the door. They were there to put on a show and did not disappoint. Did not "mail in"one song. Played for the audience and for themselves. They obviously enjoyed preforming. Crowd was into it and the band fed off of them. When a band has fun, the shows are ALWAYS better. So glad we went. Note: The Audience. I've NEVER seen a crowd that got up to leave and return as much as this one. From the opening song to the encore. Nonstop. Kinda disrespectful to the performers and the rest of the patrons. The show deserved better manners.
