    Sleepy Hollow was sleepy

by Playluvr on 11/2/09Meadow Brook Theatre - Rochester Hills

I was disappointed, mainly with the set. I've been to Meadow Brook's production of A Christmas Carol several times and I love the sets. It is very detailed and they have several set changes throughout the play. I was expecting Sleepy Hollow to be comparable and was disappointed with the simple set design and the fact that the only set change was to and from the "school room". Basically, the entire show took place against the back drop of the woods. The acting was great though at times the story moved along too slowly.

The wife and I like live theatre and both recommend others to see the play! It was excellent......

I am always impressed and pleasantly surprised by the quality of Meadow Brook Theatre productions. Sleepy Hollow did not disappoint. I prefer A Christmas Carol to it, however.

three actor cast with virtually no set or set changes, on a small stage, acceptable community theater acting (you have to overlook stumbling over missed lines). grossly overpriced for the level of performance. the advertisement graphic is very misleading, one might get the impression there were realistic props and a professional stage play involved. It was children's theater caliber.

    Sleepy Hollow

by HeadlessJoe on 10/24/09Meadow Brook Theatre - Rochester Hills

This play was definitely good. It's an adaptation of the original story though, not the movie. (I'm not really sure why I thought it'd be based on the movie , come to think of it...) Overall the theater itself was great, all the seats can see really well. The effects with the horseman are good, but I'd like to have seen more of him.

    Not Really Worth the Money

by maryelizro on 10/23/09Meadow Brook Theatre - Rochester Hills

While the actors were wonderful, as expected, and the set was well done, the play itself lacked a lot. The writing, and direction, just weren't 'all that.' I left very disappointed, and wishing I hadn't spent the money....

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow review

by Kathleen45 on 10/12/09Meadow Brook Theatre - Rochester Hills

The first half of the play was a but slow. The second half was more interesting.. My husband fell asleep during the first half of the play and my daughter (6 years old) was restless about 5 minutes into the play. Actually, I was a little restless early on into the play..

    great play, great night!!

by homecomingdate1 on 10/12/09Meadow Brook Theatre - Rochester Hills

Instead of attending my highschool homecoming dance, I decided to take my date to see this show. WOW! Is all I can say! The show was performed perfectly. We laughed, were scared and amazed at the same time. We are still talking about it! The actors were terrific and very believable. The costumes were exceptional and the stage was awesome. It was a special event and a terrific evening.

    sleepy hollow, very sleepy

by drag1 on 10/9/09Meadow Brook Theatre - Rochester Hills

I thought the play was not great. It needs some work. The headless horseman appeared once at the beginning and once at the end for a few seconds. The play was mostly about a school teacher who fell in love with a girl and there were 2 sisters that were very annoying who were after him. It had a few cheap laughs but overall it was not worth the money you pay for it.
