The Kruger Brothers gave a fabulous 2 hour performance! The 10 minute banjo opening by Jens was a masterpiece of energetic and technically intricate melodies unlike anything I've ever heard. It was supported by the guitar and bass into a seamless piece of entertainment. They played a number of their popular tunes, both instrumental and with Uwe's full and wonderful voice. Uwe also showed us his high caliber guitar playing. The brothers were humble in their presentation and had a very engaging and enjoyable stage presence, as they talked about their life journey. If they perform near you, go see them! It's as close to heaven in music as you will get.
Was there for sound check and enjoyed watching what goes into preparation for a performance. Also had a chance to chat with Uwe, Joel and Jens. Great time, lots of laughs. The performance was outstanding. Intimate setting, great setlist, unparalleled talent and playing, and the narrative between songs provided insights into the band, their journey, and the back story for the songs.
The rescheduling was a plus - it allowed my guitar playing, 20 year old son (on the original date), to attend the concert after he became "of age." A nice intimate venue, very enjoyable.
Love Krugers brothers, Quartet from Carrboro was great too!
Being a Kruger Brothers ‘groupie’, I thought I knew what to expect at this concert. Was I ever wrong! We heard some of their classic songs and their often heard stories and banter but the addition of the string quartet from Carrboro was absolutely fantastic! What beautiful music they shared with us. I’m still smiling!
The Kruger Brothers never fail to impress! Their concerts are always fun, moving, inspirational, and uplifting. This time, they invited The Carboro Quintet to join them for some of their more intricate and beautiful compositions and the quintet absolutely nailed it - and, with stunning enthusiasm! The setting was beautiful, the hall is large, but cozy. We were on our feet with standing ovations, cheering our dear Brothers on through another glorious performance. Wonderful evening!
I bought this concert for my husband for a Christmas present. I' not a fan of Bluegrass music so I had gotten my mind frame set to just be able to tolerate the evening. Much to my surprise I fell in love with The Kruger Brothers. This specific tour is a little different because of the quartet addition. The first half is all instrumental and so fine you aren't going to believe it. The talent of these guys was beyond my expectations. I recommended this concert to a friend on face book that lives in Chicago and they did see them. They were blown away! Don't miss the chance to see these guys!
Outstanding performance as usual. Their joy they take in their music is infectious
The Kruger Brothers always put on an excellent show. I have seen them many times and have never been disappointed.
