So I bought a ticket to go see The Front Bottoms right? And so they come on stage and I’m like “oh it’s just an opening band” so I hop on my phone and start scrolling though social media. And then they start playing and I’m absolutely flabbergasted, like their so good. So like wow awesome 10/10 love this band and I’m definitely buying tickets next time they come around.
I had tickets for the original show, which was to be over a year ago, I think. I wasn't sure I could attend the new date but I'm so glad I did! I went with a friend and it was such a great show. Bowery Ballroom is one of my favorite venues as it feels intimate but with good sound and a really nice layout. The band was just phenomenal. They were so tight and played for a long time and had a lot of stage presence. After the show, my friend and I, who were quite inebriated saw the singer and said hi and took some pictures with her. She could not have been any nicer. What a great Sunday night!
Was fortunate enough to have the VIP experience included - so as well as some nice goodies we got to hang out with the band for a preshow acoustic session which was very cool and intimate and a truly great way to interact with the band - was like hanging out with some mates from back in Wales - except these ones are uber musically talented to boot. The support act - Tres Leches - were a very different kind of band both in music and demeanour and were a good counterpoint - I was impressed with how they all changed between instruments or vocals with such ease - a very talented group of musicians. The Joy Formidable then came on to do their main set and produced a seamless performance interjected with lots of Welsh chatty humour - they have a great connection with their fanbase and this really shone through along with their great sense of self awareness and empathy. They have been together for 15 years but I only just discovered them last year - these guys should be way more famous - or maybe I have been away from Wales for too long...but they should be a global phenom!
FRAUD. BAIT & SWITCH Bowery Ballroom - New York I purchased VIP tix on July 6 to see Jon Batiste at Bowery Ballroom, NYC, on Sept. 11 @ 7 p.m., only to see tix in my account for "Joy Formidable." The notation next to the band name read "Rescheduled toSun. Sept. 11 at 7 p.m." Neither Ticketmaster or the venue notified of a cancellation for Jon Batiste, but insyead engaged in a BAIT & SWITCH. It is impossible to speak with a live CS person at the Ticketmaster or the venue. Over $130 I can't seem to get a refund for. A live chat session the day of the concert resulted in "Kim" saying the problem was escalated, but "it may take a whike for someone toget back to you." UNACCEPTABLE. Ticketmaster is still engaging in FRAUDULENT PRACTICES. I will file complaints with all governing bodies. I will file comaints
Paid a relatively small fee for VIP entrance and was treated to early entrance, signed gifts and an acoustic interactive set with 3 incredibly talented, funny and engaging people. They are a band you feel could be your best friends, wow, an experience i will never forget. Oh and the plugged set was PHENOMENAL!!!! Look them up and see them live!
I loved seeing Rhydian, Ritzy, and Mr. Thomas in concert again! I recommend the VIP tickets because they’re always friendly and fun to converse with. I had no idea who the opening band was (Tres Leches) and didn’t have any interest until I saw them perform. They were amazing as well and now I’m a fan!
This is my absolute favorite band. They are amazing live! Their sound is deep and rich and they are fabulous performers and very nice people. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!! TWEN was great too (their opener).
It was an unforgettable moment in my life. I have never felt such passion radiating from a band. The second they came out my body turned to goosebumps. You can tell that these wonderful human beings love what they do. And they love their fans.
The Joy Formidable is a fantastic band to see live. Their music is amazing! Can't wait to see them again!
