This performance was encouraging, enlightening, entertaining and exceptional! Loved it and so did my 12 year old grandson. We sat in the orchestra view section which was educational.
Wow! ICYOLA continues to wow the crowd with their young, talented, and dedicated young people who give their all and more to be part of this amazing musical group. The concert was so enjoyable with beautiful sounds, and super fun moments ~ especially the Motown songs. looking forward to future concerts.
I was so proud of these young people who have obviously sacrificed to get to this pinnacle. (Must say I'm quite taken with their parents as well.) They are such a magnificent musical inspiration. They should be commended and recommended! I wish all students had the opportunity to participate in a music program; as my generation did coming up through the Los Angeles School District in the 1950's. Taking music out of the public schools (and the arts in general) have proven to be a huge mistake.
This will be a staple for our family every year!!!
I was truly amazed by the performance! The kids are so skilled and talented that there is little difference between this show and one that is played by professionals. It was a top-notch performance and a must see. I loved that half of the ticket proceeds, went back to the group. It's an event that is worthy of support.
Those young people were GREAT!!! It was wonderful to see so many high school and college kids from all ethnic backgrounds play classical music flawlessly. The Musical Director, Charles Dickerson was excellent. .
Our seats in the terrace were perfect we could see all thE performer clearly and head on, didn't have to turn our headers to see performers. The performers were great and played like they had been playing their whole lives, they were amazing!!!
The Inner City Youth Performance was outstanding. We were invited by friends who's son is part of the orchestra. They found an incredibly unique way to mix traditional symphonic music with modern day songs and provided a true appreciation for both. We thoroughly enjoyed their performance and we were humbled by their amazing talent. Their renditions and appreciation for Michael Jackson's songs and dancing was well done. The performers included the orchestra, amazing saxophone players, a chorus and dancers. The house was dancing in the aisles at the end of the performance and everyone left with a smile and joy in their hearts. We can't wait for next year's show!
