About

East London via Southend-On-Sea band THE HORRORS have come along way since 2005, when they graced the cover of the NME with eye-linered eyes, big hari, an eff-you attitude and barely a single (the spiky ‘Shenna Is A Parasite') to their name. Their live shows were a riot- often literally- but did what rock n roll is supposed to do: energise, excite, divide and polarize. Three records on, they're all grown up and the hype has evolved into almost universal respect. Skying is a wide-ranging, shapeshifting album with an overarching pop sensibility (see: unklikely hit single ‘Still Life'). They headlined the Laneway- curated stage at London's Field Day in July and we guarantee that they're as thrilling as ever.

    The Horrors

by elunachilders on 10/24/14Stage 48 - New York

This band is amazing. Their goth-like style and punk rock sound puts you in a trance that you don't want to come out of.

    They were not horrorible

by ChipFan on 10/23/14Mayan Theater - Los Angeles

Very good show. Professional musicians. The venue was weird though -no alcohol down on the general admission floor - supposedly because it was all ages.

    So much energy

by kurtkurtkurt on 10/20/14The Fillmore - San Francisco

This show was one of the best of my life. The Horrors know how to put on a show, playing songs from almost all the albums. Sounded just like the recordings with some amazing extended versions.

They are like the Ramones and David Bowie combined into one, with the swag of the Strokes. Solid show! Excellent sound! Vibrant Energy!

Why did The Horrors play BEFORE the Black Angels??

by bamboozledsadfan on 5/4/12The Fonda Theatre - Hollywood

I bought tickets to see THE HORRORS NOT THE BLACK ANGELS. The show, after all, is called The Horrors AND The Black Angels, and not vice versa. I made the mistake of assuming that the amazing, well-known band called The Horrors was going to play AFTER the Black Angels. The Black Angels were horrible, and it wasn't until I was halfway through their performance that I realized I had arrived too late and completely missed The Horrors. The poster for this show even featured The Horrors. I'm completely baffled, disappointed and angry that I wasted my time and money. I was looking forward to seeing The Horrors for weeks and instead had to sit through a torturous hour of The Black Angels. I was bamboozled into thinking that The Horrors was the headline. I'm furious and wish I could get a refund.

    The Horrors/The Black Angels

by laufdogpro on 4/20/12The Fonda Theatre - Hollywood

I went to the show because I really liked The Black Angels. However, The Horrors, to my surprise blew me away! They sucked all the energy from the crowd that The Black Angels just seemed dull and noisy. I went to the show being a Black Angels fan but I left as a Horrors believer. Please bring the Horors back, they were incredible. I went home and downloaded a couple of their tracks. They are the goods!

ONE OF THE BEST NIGHTS OF MY LIFE!!!

by mermaidfish on 4/20/12The Fonda Theatre - Hollywood

the entire show was magic. the horrors had so much energy and every time faris, joshua or any of them looked in your direction it felt like they were looking right at you. i honestly wasn't expecting much from the horrors live, but seriously you HAVE to see them for yourselves. i can't even describe how good they were. i was two bodies away from the front for the horrors and right in front for the black angels. i highly reccommend getting as close to the front as possible. the black angels were not as energetic but they were sick! they definitely put on a great show. god, i love them. WHAT A GREAT NIGHT!!

The black angels are just flawless. The horrors...

by Bossycats on 4/20/12The Fonda Theatre - Hollywood

The horrors are alright. The band was pretty tight well together.I was impress with the lead singers interaction with the guitarest solo.It was the best part of the set.Besides the singers appeal,I have never seen such well dressed men.Very handsome and so on I am sure their fans can put the rest.Alot of em.It was alright. Now the black angels were my favorite.I loved every thing about their sound.I wish I could re visit that night once more.It was perfect and insert every positive word to describe the black angels.Though they weren't as dancy as the horrors(how interesting do they dance, like prancing lemurs on ecxstacy)the crowd was doing the moving and shaking for them.Moon duo was amazing as well.Make sure to take a listen to those two dynamic duo.Its like the wonder twins only one looks like a bearded wizard and one is his accomplice.Over all, this is for the horrors review or something, but this was my first concert and I can't shut up about it.So that means it was fantastic.Really.But what the heck do I know.It was my first time and it was the best. And I was not under the influence of anything.Only groovyness. That made me temporarily death for two days.Worth it.
