The Hives are a Swedish rock band known for their energetic live performances and hit songs. The 2023 album The Death of Randy Fitzsimmons marked their first release after a decade-long hiatus. Led by frontman Howlin' Pelle Almqvist, the band has a distinctive style that includes dressing in matching black-and-white tuxedos on stage. As for their sound, The Hives were an integral part of the garage rock revival of the early 2000s. With a lineup that has remained consistent over the years, including members like Nicholaus Arson and Chris Dangerous, The Hives have left a lasting impact on the music industry with albums like 2000's Veni Vidi Vicious and 2012's Lex Hives. "Hate to Say I Told You So," the first single from Veni Vidi Vicious, peaked at number 25 on the US Mainstream Rock Billboard chart.

by Dani on 11/18/23The Belasco - Los AngelesI lived the Hives, they are absolutely amazing live and do not disappoint. My only issue was with the venue. There was so much smoking inside and it just was not pleasant. There was one person standing in front of me smoking the whole show, and even blowing smoke in the faces of the people in front of them. People passing through the crowds smoking too. There was no enforcement of the smoking laws and it sucked. Another issue is that the venue is all flat. So for short people like me, having to watch a show between the shoulders and necks of others, also not worth the cost of going to this venue.

The Mystery Skulls were a great opener to The Hives who came with tons of energy and lots of fun songs. The Hives amped the energy up to 11 and played everything you could want them to play and sounded great doing it. My only complaint is that the audio tech at Revolution Live had the speakers red-lining and playing at a sound level where my ears were ringing for over 2 days. I love loud music, but as someone who does theater audio myself, the audio guys need to check their levels. 10/10 Recommend the Hives, and love Revolution Live for shows, but will be taking earplugs to future shows in fear that the audio person is too deaf to pick up on speaker cracking
