    What a stinker....

by AlbanyCritic on 2/18/15The Palace Theatre Albany - Albany

I have been to $10 comedy shows better than this one. The only highlight of the night was the 3rd performer, Judy Gold who brought humor in the correct way. The worst by far was John Mulrooney who I was excited about seeing given his ties to the area. He was extremely rude to the audience calling women bitches and hos and kept talking about banging somebody. I am the furthest thing from a prude and enjoy adult humor but his didn't make sense with the theme of the show and was a waste of money, The one star I gave was for Judy and that's all!

All four comedians were not funny

by Frustrated12345 on 2/17/15The Palace Theatre Albany - Albany

We had some good laughs with John Mulrooney and Kevin Downey Jr., Michele Balan was ok and with Judy Gold, we couldn't wait for her to get off the stage. There is only so many times you can laugh at someone who keeps shaking their arm fat. There was way too much interaction with the audience that wasn't funny or was kept going for way too long. I can't recall really laughing, This was the second show of the night for these comedians and maybe they should stick to one show and be on top of their game. We have been going to Valentine's Day comedy shows for years and I think this was our last.

Gender Defenders was a great comical event!

by Taylor26 on 2/17/15The Palace Theatre Albany - Albany

Me and my date had a great time. It was a great way to spend our first Valentines Day. Two of the four comedians were funny and entertaining; two I couldn't wait for them to get off the stage. I would recommend this show to anyone trying to figure out something fun to do after a nice dinner; provided your not looking for a gut-wrenching comedy show and just a good laugh.

    Shock Comedy

by Anonymous on 2/19/14The Palace Theatre Albany - Albany

Didn't fit my sense of humor at all....3 of the 4 comics main style was shock humor which I personally do not find very funny. The last two comics routines were almost all one liners and shock humor. Example: "So I went to a yoga class and they had me doing the happy baby pose, then some guy came in and fucked me"... I unfortunately didn't realize it was Kevin Downey headlining. I can't really complain because he was basically what he was on America's Got Talent except a much longer act (so if I had done my research on the performers I'd have been spared). His comedy is just a compilation of one line jokes, his bird call, and him shouting "SSSIIIPPPPP" before he drinks from his beer. A couple of jokes are funny here and there and I laughed the first time he shouted "siippp", but it's not an act that can really hold your attention throughout a long show. The best act was the southern guy who now lives in Manhattan, he put together an intelligent act with punchlines surrounded by stories with real life scenarios you can relate to...and he makes them funny

    Ups and Downs

by SALindy on 2/18/14The Palace Theatre Albany - Albany

Some moments were quite funny others not so much. Not a bad show. It was kept moving by the changes in comedians. I would recommend this show providing your not looking for gut splitting humor.
