The artist I initially purchased tickets for was removed from the line up so I ended up stuck going on Sunday for only one band, which in and of itself was unfortunate. Parking is insane, be prepared to walk awhile or pay up at least $20 to park (or both). Overall things like sound quality and security were nice. In the end, I can say that I've gone to Forecastle but it won't be a priority to go back.
Beautiful place to have a concert. Easy access in and out. Recommend this place
It was a great venue. There was lots of shade/ water options for a 90+ degree day.
So many bands and they were all good! Couldn't see all of them and some were not my style of music but I could hear them moving from stage to stage and they were good. Compact so you could get from stage to stage without walking for long periods, but music from one stage did not interfere with each other. The Reverb water stations were lifesavers with the extreme heat all weekend, (92-96 on Friday and Saturday). Crowds large but not jammed, you could get around. Sound was great and side screens a plus if you were not in front. Lighting was well done. Lots of activities if you wanted to take a break from the music. lots of food choices and everything we tried was good. Crowd was very friendly and did not get out of hand at any point that I saw.
I've been to Forecastle several times now and it's been steadily slipping every year. Less than attention-grabbing line-ups. Paid extra for the Bourbon Lodge again..only to see it was oversold this year and we were held at the door twice for exceeding capacity. One of the Bourbon vendors said it was the worst she had ever seen. I still think the use of the space is great. They need more beer choices as the "craft beer" area is actually a tent with 4 oz. pours. Overall, not too great considering Bourbon and Beyond is right around the corner with major headliners, solid second-tier talent, celebrity chef experiences, a bourbon bar area and many other things that Forecastle offers. Why not spend the extra cash for an elevated festival.
Excellent festival especially for the price. Great location.
Incredible line up this year! Every band killed this year, Houndmouth jammed out! Arcade Fire brought the house down
Lots of different bands and genres. A bit crowded for the hot weather.
Totally a festival I will be attending again, not overhyped and no crazy people; everyone is there to enjoy the music and vibe with each other.
