    AWESOME!

by Hopme2 on 3/20/13City National Grove of Anaheim - Anaheim

The Fenians were amazing. They were full of energy, fun and they were great. Only wished their show was longer. Only heard about them performing there by accident. LOVED THEM!!!!!! The opening acts left a lot to be desired!!!!! The first group (name???) was not very goood, sang mostly off key. They didn't even dress up and one of the girls looked like a bag lady. They looked and sounded like they were giving a free concert. The second opening act Citizen Joe was not very good either!! Didn't appreciate the political agenda of the lead guy. I don't pay money to hear performers complain about other cities and their policies....very UNPROFESSIONAL!

    Fenians rocked!

by Irishatheart1 on 3/19/13City National Grove of Anaheim - Anaheim

We had no idea there were two other bands opening for the Fenians. The first band would have been enough to open. They were good and more traditional Irish folksy. Then came Citizen Joe......Although a decent band, they didn't seem to fit in. Much more rock than Irish. I wish the Fenians had come on earlier. We were there to see them and by the time they came on we were ready to leave. We didn't though because we wanted to see them the most. And they didn't disappoint!! They sounded amazing and I loved their new songs. I wish we had more time to see them and less with the other two bands. In my opinion, the first opening band would've been enough. Citizen Joe just didn't fit the bill for the night.

    Late with the Fenians

by DeeDeeCanfield on 3/19/13City National Grove of Anaheim - Anaheim

The venue was great, although, it did not have to be so cramped. It was NOT sold out. The food was good but a bit overpriced. The warm up bands were unecessary and were HORRIBLE! We left when they performed. Sportive Tricks (?) tried to be humorous and upbeat, but their vocals were lacking. At least they performed music that was somewhat Irish. Citizen Joe was the worst opening act I've heard in decades. The music had nothing to do with the theme of St. Patrick's day. The show was advertised that The Fenians would be on at 7:30 pm It was well pas 9:30 when they did take the stage. The sound was really messed up and we couldn't hear John's voice. Seriously - over 4 hours to make sure this would be okay and it sucked?? AND - it was Sunday night, the crowd's age averaged at about 50, and the main group is coming on at 9:30??? WE HAVE TO WORK. This was the stupidest timing ever. Know your audience! People were leaving after The Fenians performed 3 songs! We left at 10:45. We couldn't really enjoy them because it was so late.

    The Fenians were great...however

by Donnybrooke3 on 3/19/13City National Grove of Anaheim - Anaheim

It was my first time seeing the band and they were great! However they had two openers, and the first was good and fun. It was St. Paddy's day so the first band was another Irish band. The second opener...would make me not come back and see the Fenians again. Not my type of music at all, and funny enough the couple in front of us, decided to leave becuse how much they did not like the band. They came back 50 minutes later, however not very happy. I agree, not happy at all.

    Dancing the Jig

by Rdhedd75 on 3/19/12City National Grove of Anaheim - Anaheim

AMAZING SHOW. THE BAND'S INTERACTION WITH THE CROWD MADE THIS A VERY PLEASURABLE EVENT. I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THE FENIANS AGAIN.

I came to see the Fenians as one of my best friends from high school is in the band. I didn't care for the seating arrangement at the Grove as I brought two people with me and was unable to pick my seats on ticketmaster's website. We were seated with strangers who were friendly and did not have a problem with them at all. But there very well could have been an issue as there were many intoxicated people there who had no problem disrupting others. The sound was good, the show was great. Would liked to have been able to pick my exact seats!

The Fenians were great, but did not play long enough since most of the show was taken up with the other two acts. Citizen Joe was good. The dancers were good, but dancing is not my thing. Food was okay, but kind of pricey

    8 p.m. or 10 p.m.?

by fishwife on 3/19/12City National Grove of Anaheim - Anaheim

The tickets for this show said nothing about opening acts. Neither did the newspaper advertisements. Both said the Fenians would appear at 8 p.m. In truth, they came on stage at 9:57 p.m. That's just not right. They were on for 90 minutes or so, and they were their usual confident selves, combining their own songs with some nice standards. But concertgoers should be told when there are going to be opening acts that take up more time on stage than the main act.
