The Disco Biscuits rose to prominence in the ‘90s by pioneering their own genre: “trancefusion,” which bridges the gap between electronic music and Frank Zappa-influenced jam bands. The quartet of Jon "The Barber" Gutwillig (guitar), Marc Brownstein (bass), Sam Altman (drummer, later replaced by Allen Aucoin) and Aron Magner (keys) met on the University of Pennsylvania campus in 1995. One year later, they released their debut album Encephalous Crime. The highly-danceable jam band transitioned from playing frat parties to touring in support of everyone from The Black Crowes to the Jerry Garcia Band. Over the years, The Disco Biscuits have released multiple experimental albums and EPs, and curated the annual Camp Bisco electronic music festival. In July 2023, they embarked on their first West Coast tour in nearly 14 years.

Blending jam music and house music into an otherworldly performance. What an incredible show They truly take you to another world!!
Absolutely incredible musical experience. They played two sets of 1:40 minutes each with a short break. Each set was literally non- stop music. I’ve never experienced a better concert!
It’s the greatest live show out there in the jam band scene. Been to 88 shows so far and have yet to see anything close to the same show twice. With a catalog of 200+ songs they never fail to keep it fresh. They pioneered they’re own genre of music; trancefusion. You’ll never regret going; your bank account might though.
Was really looking forward to this concert in Portland ME, particularly as it was the re-arranged date following the cancellation last year due to the terrible Lewiston Maine shootings… However, sorry to say that it was for me a disappointing evening, the acoustics were frankly terrible out front (I was standing mid-way back on the barrier by the engineer’s mixing station). The relentless bass was so distorted that it was painful to listen to ! Not what I have come to expect from a seasoned and hi-tech outfit as the Biscuits. One other thing also; when I listened to the performance of the concert afterwards online it sounded absolutely crystal clear and totally different sound, nothing like what I was hearing out in the audience, so I don’t really know what they were recording…a direct link from their instruments presumably with no background noise ?? Anyway to me that’s false advertising ! I love the Biscuits but that wasn’t very good I’m afraid, sorry guys.
Stellar show, amazing band, lights, and promoter Greg Bell. The venue is kibd if awful and I hope they play anywhere else. The staff were cool, there is no ventilation, the floors and walls wet from the lack of air flow and the cement floor and walls SUCK for sound.
If you're up for Grooving Non-Stop to hard driving music this is your band.
No words, go see the Disco Biscuits, incredible show start to finish
As always flamethrower show from tDb. Please come back to Charlottesville and Richmond VA.
Phenomenal how once they start they don't stop! I think the set break is more for us to recover than for them.
Lots was on point. They are where they are. Keys a lot of times has a far too complex set up than performance. Sometimes was mixed much louder than other components. Would love to be a guest.
