show was excelllent musically except for opening act andy statman trio did not seem to ever lock rhythmically with one another -- all good musicians but not in synch to my ear. This venue is excellent sonically and great soundman but conditions are very uncomfortable for anyone who wants to sit at any point during the show -- there is virtually no seating.

The Deadly Gentlemen were awesome! Such great musicians and a lot of fun! I love the size of the Sinclair, but wish there were more seating options!

Peter Rowan and Deadly Gentlemen a real treat

by Feycus on 1/28/14The Sinclair - Cambridge

All four set were great, with each offering its own special twist. The two guitarists who started were clearly virtuoso types who found a unique way of playing together. Joy Kills Sorrow was haunting and an interesting offshoot of bluegrass. Deadly Gentlemen had beautiful and harmonious singing, were tight in there instrumental interplay, and did a fabulous job of increasing the intensity within the course of a song, sort of analogous to how the Greatful Dead used to. Peter Rowan was wonderful for us old folks who have known him for decades. He gave us a great variety of related tunes, from the Watson tribute, to a cowboy campfire song, to a great long rendition of Moonlight Midnight culminating in native american like keening. What a great experience. Now if only there were seating.

    Gents Ball was a TIME!!!

    by Senorita32 on 1/28/14The Sinclair - Cambridge

Every act was incredible (Chris Eldridge and Julian Lage --> Joy Kills Sorrow --> Deadly Gentlemen --> Peter Rowan)- loved the variety and the feeling that the night was never even close to being over! Until it was, alas... Thought the fiddle jam in the bar area between sets was a nice idea; why not- that's what the musicians want to be doing, anyway! Jam! The whole thing felt like one big awesome party. The venue and the Gents did a great job hosting.
