    Disappointed

by Pazoli on 6/30/15Brighton Music Hall - Boston

Drove from RI to Boston--a destination that I loathe--out of interest in seeing this band. Got there shortly after doors opened at 8 to learn that the band wouldn't start performing until 11 or after. Left before they came on. Consider spent money and drive and aggravation of Boston a big waste of time and effort.

    The Damnwells rocked the House!

by Damnwells1Fangirl on 5/11/15Irving Plaza - New York

The Damnwells were AMAZING. They played songs from their new self titled album and many of their older hits. Alex and Company were on fire.

    Damnwells is Awesome

by lilystar13 on 3/19/14Baby's All Right - Brooklyn

Having the original lineup back is amazing, Steve is a wonderful drummer, and Dave is a fabulous guitarist. Can't wait to see them again.

7 Stars After 7 Years Away!

by Dillon77 on 3/19/14Baby's All Right - Brooklyn

Hard to believe that it's been 7 years since the original Damnwells lineup has performed together. The only evidence of it was that the band only played songs that the entire band has played on and those most came from their earlier albums and two news ones (which sound great!). But what they played sounded right and tight: Stephen Terry back pounding the skins and propelling every song forward and David Chernis on guitar/lap steel got more and more into it with every song. At one point, it looked like Alex Dezen and Ted Hudson were just looking at those two with "...man, this is what we've been missing" looks. All great. The venue -- Baby's All Right -- was a last-minute substitute, but the intimacy seemed good for a first-time 'round again show. Let's just hope when the Damnwells start touring in support of the new album, they promote well and help pull the(bigger) crowds they deserve!

Excellent Damnwellssongs and fun with Harper Blynn

by debmonster on 4/19/11Bowery Ballroom - NEW YORK

I was so happy that, even though this was a CD-release performance, there were still plenty of older and much-loved Damnwells tunes played in addition to the great songs from the new record. Songs ranged from high energy rock to beautiful acoustic heartbreak and soulful insight - kinda like life. Alex and Ted (the Damnwells) put on a fantastic show and the members of opening band Harper Blynn were the perfect choice to perform as part of the main band. HB's musical talent was top notch and their sense of humor and command of foreign languages fit in seamlessly with the Damnwells. I loved it when J. Blynn was speaking Portuguese and an audience member answered back in the same language, much to his surprise. His reaction was: "I promise it will work better in Albuquerque." Howard Jennings was also very enjoyable as the first opening act.

The Damnwells at the Bowery Ballroom

by anthony95401 on 3/28/11Bowery Ballroom - NEW YORK

Alex Dezen and The Damnwells were in great form at the Bowery Ballroom. Playing many selections from their most recent CD, "No One Listens to the Band Anymore", the band played for an hour and 15 minutes. They also included some of their past hits such as "Golden Days", but, surprisingly, did nothing from their previous CD "One Last Century", which is (in my opinion) their strongest release to date. Still, this band is one of the most underappreciated bands around and it is always a pleasure to see them live. Their strong song writing and the great vocals of Alex Dezen make every show a treat.
