About

The National Theatre of Great Britain’s acclaimed production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time is the winner of 5 Tony Awards® and 7 Olivier Awards, including Best Play, Best Director and Best Design. Tony Award® winner Marianne Elliott (War Horse) directs this “triumphant” (Sunday Telegraph, UK) adaptation by two-time Olivier Award-winning playwright Simon Stephens who brings Mark Haddon’s internationally best-selling novel to thrilling life on stage.

Fifteen-year-old Christopher Boone has an extraordinary brain, exceptional at math while ill- equipped to interpret everyday life. He has never ventured alone beyond the end of his road, he detests being touched and he distrusts strangers. When Christopher falls under suspicion for killing his neighbour’s dog, his detective work to identify the true culprit, takes him on a journey that upturns his world.

Featuring remarkable, immersive staging and a full British and Irish cast, this is a global theatrical phenomenon that simply must not be missed.

    Terrific

A great venue. Awesome show. My only complaint is the language. I do not feel swearing/foul language is necessary. Otherwise fantastic.

    This is a must see!!

by kob on 11/16/21Shea's 710 Theatre - Buffalo

This was an excellent show!! The story of a 15 year old boy with autism - enlightening, funny, intriguing and very moving. The cast was great and the lead actor who played Christopher was outstanding. Very clever how they took the book and put it on stage. You don't need to read the book to enjoy this but the book is worth reading anyway. I would definitely see this again.

    Amazing Performance

    by Laurie K. on 11/16/21Shea's 710 Theatre - Buffalo

We were blown away by the performance of this play based upon a much-loved book by Mark Haddon, especially by the actor who played 15-year-old Christopher. He embodied the complicated life of a young man who is a genius at math but has difficulty navigating a world of nuances and metaphors. Although "autism" or "Asperger's" is never uttered, it appears that is what Christopher lives with, and throughout the play, he makes this character real, complicated, relatable and loveable. The actors who played his parents beautiful conveyed the fierce love and frustration of raising Christopher and also their faltering marriage. The supporting actors, who played multiple characters and sometimes props, such as doors, were all top-notch. The creative lighting and set design for this lovely intimate theater brought the book to life in such a stunning way. Thoroughly impressed by all the cast and crew! Would see it again if it were still playing. "

    Very slow story

by Thanks on 11/16/21Shea's 710 Theatre - Buffalo

The play was slow drawn out. The principal has issues that was the story and special needs. He was lied to by his dad about many issues.

    Kudos to "Christopher"

    by Sally K on 11/15/21Shea's 710 Theatre - Buffalo

I had recently read this book, and did not know how this would develop on stage. Needless to say, I was very impressed with the whole production!!! My friend and I had front row seats to the left of the stage (facing). The role of Christopher was phenomenally played by Samuel Fesmire. He brought Christopher and his eccentricities to life in a way I could not have imagined, Quite a task as some of the dialog was complicated. His interpretation of the emotional meltdowns which Christopher had will stay in my memory for a long time - the moaning and rocking when stressed, and the nervous pulling at his trouser leg were impressive. It brought to life the way Christopher likely coped with his insecurities and anxieties. It was easy to imagine how difficult it was for Christopher's parents to deal with him. With minimal use of props - cubes, trunks and a rolling stair way, it was still easy to visualize the environment. Kudos to all the actors who brought so many people to life - the policeman, the teacher, the neighbors, the parents. And more. Thank you for this lovely production.

    AMAZING LEAD ACTOR!

by Debbie on 11/14/21Shea's 710 Theatre - Buffalo

Not knowing anything about this show, I chose to go to this performance because it advertised a discount rate. However I did not receive the discount and it couldn’t be corrected. But the show was awesome and the lead actor (Samuel Fesmire/Christopher) did an absolutely phenomenal job with his performance in a difficult role. So impressive!
