The Clean House Tickets

I thought the acting was top notch. However the director didn't seem to know what to do with the play. Too much shtick - laugh for a laugh's stake. (An example: the scenes between the mother and father. The actors could have done so much more had they been allowed to.) The play was filled with missed opportunities for painful and sweet laughter by the characters. Big irritant: apples thrown from the lover's apartment above that land in the doctor's apartment below and just lay there for the remainder of the second act - nice idea for a moment I suppose, but these ideas are what a director needs to cut without mercy. Still, the ending left this guy laughing and tearing up. Was about as good as theater can get. Too bad there weren't more moments like that.

The show was entertaining and moving. The compassion Lane shows toward the woman who has taken away her husband was heart wrenching. It also has its funny moments! The message of a change of heart and compassion and interaction between the characters was moving.. It was fantastic!

It's a great show. The performance is great and the script is very intriguing.
