About

THE CHAIN GANG OF 1974 IN CONCERT:

The Chain Gang of 1974 is a rising indie act that blends '80s pop with elements of EDM and rock to arrive at their unique sound. Whether the band is headbanging between verses or singer Kamtin Mohager is rocking out to fan favorite "Sleepwalking" in his signature leather jacket, the Chain Gang of 1974 always deliver high-energy performances that can't be matched. With heavy, experimental synths and powerful, raw vocals, the band packs a punch during their thrilling live performances.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

The Chain Gang of 1974 is the solo project of Kamtin Mohager, a multi-talented musician who had his first taste of fame in 2007 as the touring bassist for 3OH!3. He worked with the hard-rock-meets-rap group for three years before launching his solo career with 2010's White Guts, his debut as The Chain Gang of 1974. He continued to record and tour throughout the US with a full band and truly took off with 2014's Daydream Forever, which features the smash-hit "Sleepwalking". He's shared the stage with hot acts like A$AP Rocky, Tyler the Creator of Odd Future, and Blondfire, and he’s performed at major music festivals around the country. A promising act with major potential, the Chain Gang of 1974 will have ticket buyers coming out in droves to his adrenaline-filled shows.

    Absolutely Amazing!

    by Melrose on 1/4/23

My husband and I drove out from Buffalo, NY to Columbus, OH to see these guys. It should have been a 5-hour trip but was closer to 6.5 due to roadwork traffic. I had never been to the venue and hasn't realized this wasn't going to be normal concert; they were basically an opening act for a DJ set at 10 that night. So the crowd wasn't huge, but TCGo1974's energy certainly was! My husband isn't a big fan of EDM/indie, but after this show he said he'd gladly see them again! Lead singer Kamtin Mohager graciously signed autographs and took pictures with fans at their merch booth. Lovely man!

    Best concert I've been to

by Anonymous on 8/11/14Brighton Music Hall - Allston

I'm writing this review a little over a month after the concert, and I still can't believe how good it was. Of the 20+ concerts I've been to, including notoriously spectacular live acts such as Muse and Arctic Monkeys, this show had to be the best. The show took place in the summer in a college town, so unfortunately not a lot of people showed up to the show; there couldn't have been more than 50 people in there. The Chain Gang of 1974 didn't care. They had unbelievable energy throughout the entire show, a fantastic set list, all of their songs were played very accurately, and their crowd interaction was stellar. After the show, I got to meet Kamtin Mohager, and he was very down to earth and genuinely appreciative of every person there. Overall, I couldn't recommend seeing The Chain Gang of 1974 enough. Perhaps I am over-hyping the concert, but there was something magical about that night.
