The Bravery & Airborne - AMAZING concert!

by PJS7 on 12/22/09McMenamins Crystal Ballroom - Portland

We LOVED this concert. Perfect venue for these 2 bands...Crystal Ballroom in Portland!! The sound was great...lots of room to watch the bands and good beer selection! Both bands seemed like they really enjoyed the crowd, which made it a great overall experience!! (3rd time seeing both bands for us)

    the bravery was amazing!!!

by jccamford78 on 12/19/09House of Blues Chicago - Chicago

The House of Blues in Chicago was an excellent venue for the bravery. The average sized arena together with the new age dance rockin beat of the group made it a soul-pounding experience that should not be missed. The band was right in your face, delivering a breath-taking performance; one that will not be forgotten.

Twisted 2009! Tall Lions, Orachestras, and Bravery

by Averie on 12/17/09House of Blues Chicago - Chicago

Twisted is such an awesome event, The House of Blues did a great job hosting it again. The opening band, As Tall As Lions were amazing. They did such a good job opening and keeping the crowd entertained. Manchester Orachestra preformed very well, this was my second time seeing them and I was even more blown away. EVERYONE should see them live. The Bravery, were good too. I probly would not go buy tickets to see them again, but they had a lot of energy and played catchy tunes you could tap your foot to. I so recommend that people go to Twisted, and if you didnt get to go this year...I would buy tickets for next year.

All three bands were awesome!! The Bravery's sound was not quite right initially, but they worked it out and played a spectacular selection of songs!! (wish they had played Bad Sun, but still good). I had never heard of As Tall as Lions before, but I definitely want to hear more after seeing the show, as well as Manchester Orchestra!! Second year in a row to go, so maybe it's something I will have to continue to attend! Plus, the House of Blues is a sweet venue! Overall, it was a fabulous time!!

    Bravery dissapointed, Manchester Orchestra rocked!

by ZMan405 on 12/16/09House of Blues Chicago - Chicago

I have to start with Taller Than Lions. The band's music online sounds mediocre at best, but I have to give them props for giving a solid live performance. They sounded good and I was particularly impressed with their drummer. Manchester Orchestra was by far the best band of the night. Every band member was on point and the lead singer killed it. I found myself lost in the beat, melody, and lyrics. I also really appreciated that they went straight from one song to the next in their set. This band is one to watch. Next time they'll be headlining. The Bravery was truly disappointing. Their lead singer really had a Mick Jagger complex and was often inaudible and off pitch. The songs from the new CD suck and it was really sad to see the crowd was not feeling it. At the end of the night it was clear that had the band not played music from their previous CD--which is really good--they would have completely lost the audience. Even despite this small redemptive point, many people appeared to be so drunk that you would have thought they just came for the alcohol.

    Excellent Blend of Bands!

by thiswillbemynickname on 12/16/09House of Blues Chicago - Chicago

As Tall As Lions started off with a very energetic performance but they should have played longer! Manchester Orchestra performed good and loud and played for a decent amount of time. Then The Bravery, last but certainly not least, toppe doff the night with a performance that got better with every song!

    Manchester Orchestra Rocked

by amcclow on 12/16/09House of Blues Chicago - Chicago

Went last night to see Manchester Orchestra and they didn't disappoint. They are really an outstanding live band and I love their music. The sounded great, played a good mix of new and older songs...I only wish they had played longer than 45 minutes.

    AMAZING

by Skiff on 12/12/09McMenamins Crystal Ballroom - Portland

One of the best shows I've been to. Simply fantastic performances by The Bravery and The Airborne Toxic Event. Two different styles of music, yet equally impressive. Anya Marina was very good as well. It's too bad she wasn't able to do more than two songs. But this show was rocking. Sold out and very energetic, it was a blast to be there. If you have a chance to see either band, try to. You won't be disappointed!

    A.T.E The bravery

by neckerlong on 12/10/09McMenamins Crystal Ballroom - Portland

This was a fantastic show. Airborne continues to grow musically, bringing more power, and a few surprises. Opening with a trio of covers was beautiful. The Yo La Tengo was fantastic. The Bravery were also FANTASTIC, Hate Fuck and slow poison were great numbers.
