My wife was so excited to go and see the BoDeans at the AMES Center. She loved the entire experience. I had not seen or heard most of the BoDeans songs, and have since downloaded them. I had an amazing time, and thought the BoDeans performance was very special. We have been to the AMES Center multiple times, always sitting in the first 3 to 10 rows. This time we sat in the Balcony and had as good or better time, and the view and sound was perfect.
Intimate venue was perfect for this gem of an American rock band. Always a fan but to see them live was a privilege. Non stop hard driving and absolutely artistic. Bodeans are so authentic and unusual they create a sound that is so unlike any other band. LOVE THAT THEY ALL HAVE THEIR OWN MAGIC CARPETS! Kurt know how to pour out the love....
Loved the show, great sound, great venue (Ames center Burnsville). Highly recommend the venue and the Bodeans!
A nice nostalgic night with the Bodeans plowing through their catalogue of songs. Tanahills Tavern will need to make changes to their seating before I will return. The folding chairs are about the size of kindergarten chairs and are jammed together both in your row, but also spacing between rows. This makes for very uncomfortable seating experience. The rows have no space for anyone to get in or out and the end seats on the stage left side are obstructed view. The venue sound is very nice and it is so convenient, but no thank you. I have been to three shows here and after the last one just will not go back. The loss of a few seats per row, and maybe a row or two would make this a great venue. Hope others express their displeasure because everyone is amazed at the size of the seats and lack of leg room.
They sounded good. It was a fun nostalgic show. The ballroom at the La Crosse Center isn’t the greatest venue for a rock concert which is my only negative comment.
The evening was fantastic. Front row seats for what remains of a band that was a prominent player in my college-years soundtrack. The remaining BoDean did not disappoint. He played enough of the hits to make you wistful and the voice and guitar is still strong. Great interaction and story-telling. The venue in Fort Worth (Tanahill's) was better than I'd expected as well. I am grateful that the band made this local stop and I would recommend that anyone reading this invest in an ticket and get ready to have a good time. Long live the BoDeans!
The venue and show were excellent. Was easy to get close to the band. Sound was good and the band was great
The Birchmere as a venue is a national treasure. The no-frills tables and food service is run like clock work and allows for almost every seat to have a fantastic view. Being my 5th (or 6th or 7th, memory gets fuzzy) BoDeans show but first since before COIVID, the concern is was how could they make their tried and true classics feel new. From the first note to the last, the took their standards to new heights, adding new Kurt riffs on old takes while staying true to their "root rock" roots. Engaging as ever, the sing along prompts were perfectly timed and, for the most part, the audience responded beautifully. Still rockin' and roots poppin' after all these years!
They sounded great. Loved that they added chairs. Been to a few concerts there and this was the best one. Happy we went.
