About

Who explores a coral reef, plays in an octopus’s garden, and joins the jellyfish ballet – all before snack time?  The Backyardigans! Pablo, Tyrone, Tasha, Uniqua and Austin are back on stage, singing and dancing and ready to plunge sea deep into adventure. Dive into the action as these five friends explore clues, discover underwater magic, and match wits with an all-too-tidy octopus and a pair of playful (but messy!) dolphins. With a splashy range of song-and-dance styles to wade along to – including psychedelic soul, Bollywood, bossa nova, and more – our heroes save the day.

    Who doesn't love the Backyardigans?

by Rayrayus on 4/22/14Sony Centre for the Performing Arts - Toronto

We drove from Detroit to Toronto for the Backyardigans as my whole family likes the show. The show itself was quite good, I like that they don't have all new songs and there were some that played on TV (Like Go go go) before so they recognized it and sang along. However I do agree intermission was a bad idea. My sons lost interest after the half time even though they were very focus before. It would have been nice if they just do it continuously without break as children' attention doesn't last very long.

    Amazing!!

by Daisyy22 on 3/5/14Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

Such a good show to keep the attention and focus of the kids. I totally recommend this show even for adults I caught myself a couple times Smiling super big and totally into the interactive parts. I can't wait to watch see the other performances from the same production company. :)

    Loved the Backyardigans

by SherryMarie on 2/25/14Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

I took three of my grandchildren to the show. (7, 4, 2 1/2) They all loved it. We had seats on the balcony railing. The 2 year old held the rail with his chin between his hands for the entire show. I didn't expect him to stay so entertained but the colors and lights and story had him enthralled. The 4 year old was in awe from the first curtain. Her face glowed the whole day. The 7 year-old was excited to realize they were actors and talked about how she'd love to perform on stage. I would definitely recommend this show for those ages.

My daughter enjoyed the Backyardigans but...

by AsMommy on 10/14/09National Arts Centre - Ottawa

... it could have been done a bit more professionally. The stage crew was terrible and ruined the show for the adults. But my daughter liked dancing and singing with the characters so it made it acceptable. The intermission, however, was a terrible idea. The kids all lost interest afterwards. It should have just been on long show. Preschoolers lose focus way to easily.

supporting cast shines in otherwise mediocre show

    by Tracy22 on 10/12/09NAC - Ottawa

My husband and I took my 3 yr old to this show, and she seemed to enjoy it. Her favorite character was the Dolphin, who, in my opinion, was clearly a well trained dancer. She moved beautifully. I totally believed she was a dolphin! After the show, my husband told me that he was impresed with how stealthfully the stage hands moved the set pieces on and off. They really seemed to love what they were doing. The 3 big TV screens brought an element of the actual television program to the show. They were fun. The Backyardagans themselves looked great, but their dace moves were labored, and occasionally uncoordinated. But they tried their best. The seaweed man was agile and neat. GOOD MAKEUP. The clam acting like a dog: so funny! My daughter loved it. It's too bad the stars of the show were outshone by their supporting cast. all in all, good fun.

Backyardigans - a hit with tiny ones

by Jacquelline on 10/6/09Ricoh Coliseum - Toronto

When my four year old girls watch the Backyardigans on TV (which they love), they watch in silence and great big eyes. When they saw the Backyardigans live this past week they were alive with excitement. They sat on the edge of their seats and asked a million questions and commented on everything about the show ..."Why is the seaweed dancing?" , "Look at the clam barking":....Great show, aboslutely right length for little ones.

The Backyardigans was a hit with the little ones!

by jetgram on 10/5/09Ricoh Coliseum - Toronto

A great show! The little ones surrounding me were completely engrossed and wide eyed! This was our second trip (we saw them in early 2008)and still well worth it. Love the venue - the Ricoh centre is perfect for the little ones - and it is great that you can bring in your own snacks for them.

Our 3 year old loved it. The show itself was good but it was booked at the same time as the Fall Home Show and it was terrible getting a parking spot.
