    Sehr gut

    by K.C.S. on 5/28/23

Had not been an opera before, but my interest in German converged with my wife's desire to get out and do something different. So, Das Rheingold. Was really just astounding. Plot was melodramatic at times, but I think that is normal. Overall was beautiful and absorbing. Exceeded all expectations and will definitely go again. ... If you even think that opera is something you might enjoy, you've got to try it.

    Atlanta Opera

by Annie on 11/16/22Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - Atlanta

Parking was a nightmare. Perhaps the reason curtain was held 15 minutes. Opera was exquisite. Cobb Energy should look into improving parking. The line of cars exiting 75 stopped at Cumberland parkway. Took us twenty minutes once we got onto Cobb Galleria Parkway to get to actual parking.

    Great event but bad seat

by Vee on 3/8/22Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - Atlanta

We saw The Barber of Seville st the Cobb Energy Center last weekend. The production was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed every moment. Wondeful atmosphere and patrons happy to finally be unmasked. The line to show proof of vaccination moved quickly. Ushers were friendly and helpful. Drinks were strong. However my one disappointment was that our seats (left orchestra row Z seat 11 and 13 made it very difficult to see the overhead subtitles as they were blocked by the positioning of a light. Unless we craned our necks uncomfortably, we could not view the screen above. For the price we paid I felt we should not have had that issue. Will make sure to check that before booking again.

A very enjoyable entertaining opera. There are no bad seats at Cobb Energy Center. Really appreciated the enforcement of Covid protocol.

    1st Opera Experience- Blown Away

by Todd on 11/9/21Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - Atlanta

I'm usually a musical theater fan, but decided to try the opera because the story line was intriguing. It did not disappoint! The dance ensemble was amazing- as good as some Broadway shows. The set- The pyramid one of the coolest things I've seen on a stage. Orchestra, Singers/Actors- powerful performances that make you want to see them again. I thought having to read super-titles above the stage was going to be distracting, but not at all, I was able to keep up with the entire show. Bring these dancers and actors back for your next show (Pirates of Penzance) and I'm all in on the Atlanta Opera!
