The Acting Company Tickets

Unfortunately, for a fan of Shakespeare and particularly Macbeth, this performance was disappointing. It was an interpretation - not the full work of the Bard... many lines and characters changed, omitted and added! Bought the tickets last minute and did not research the Production at all, so will do that next time instead.

It would have been difficult for anybody not familiar with the play to have understood this condensed version. Acting was fine. Seats were so uncomfortable, we were happy that the play was so short.

A riveting production of Macbeth -- at once 'classic' and 'updated' and 'relevant.' The actor who played Macbeth was awesome

I've seen Shakespeare plays performed by different groups but was unimpressed by this rendition. First, it was rushed. Macbeth was completed in 1hr 38min with no pauses or breaks. The actors spoke the lines quickly and the goal seemed to be to get the event over quickly. Places in the play that called for more pauses were run over. Second, the actors just didn't portray the characters and their emotions well. I will hazard a guess that this was due to the speed of the play. Overall, I was very disappointed in the performance.

Unforgettable performance by the entire actors! The costumes were stunning. Beautiful stage and theatre. The professional actors were only here for a short time. The Actors Company is in Assocation with the Gunthrie Theatre.

Wonderfully performed, yet shortened version of Hamlet. The venue is relatively small and makes for fantastic seating anywhere in the house.

The acting was superb and the casting was well done. This made the play gripping even thoough we had read Steinbeck and seen the play before. The Acting Company have a well deserved reputation for excellence.

Great show! Took the whole family; everyone loved it!

Bravo! I've wondered for years how this play could be modernized, as Romeo and Juliet and Midsummer Night's Dream have been. This was terrific--from the costumes to the set, and of course, the acting. The scenes excised, such as the last (storm) scene in Act I, & Portia's hand-wringing in Act II, Scene 4, were not missed. The set with the film strips were dramatic, particularly Caesar's "motorcade", the fight scenes, and the "fire" lit at the end. The actors playing Caesar (Bjorn DuPaty), Mark Antony (Zachary Fine) and Brutus (William Sturdivant) were all very strong. This was "Shakespeare for a new generation."
