First of all, I love this group. I've followed them almost from the beginning. They have wonderful choral quality. However, they act like a high school/college choir, which means that, in my opinion, they will not build a lot of credibility with the professional audience interested in fine choral music presented by professional singers. Their audience is very young, and they act like college students, not serious music people. This I assume is their goal, to build interest in fine choral music with the younger generation. Just creates not a pleasant experience for the older crowd.
Also, the Historic Jewish Synagogue was a terrible venue. The neighborhood is less than safe. I left at intermission because I didn't want to be walking in the neighborhood any later than that, or even be on the metro. Also, they were allowing people to come in late during the performance, making tons of noise as they were seated.
All in all, I was very disappointed, which makes me sad. Once again, I love this group, and have made charitable donations to them.
