Magician Convention
by Cat123 on 9/6/11Lila Cockrell Theater - San AntonioThe event was the last night of a three-day convention for magicians. Most of the audience was made up of magicians, magician friends and relatives and more magician people. The last night was comedy magicians. It was more talking than performing magic. I expected more magic tricks with more of the ahh factor. Two of the magicians were from England and hard to understand. The show started out with the magician association's business--passing on to a new president, giving out awards, information about next year's event etc. This is very boring to the "regular" non-magician audience. The magician from New Orleans and the juggler, Ivan, were the most interesting and entertaining. A lot of the humor was adult humor, not vulgar, but adults would be the only ones to get the humor. Overall, it was an alright evening. The convention is taking place in Houston next year. I would not drive to Houston to see the acts. Perhaps if it were only the magicians doing spectacular magic, I would have liked it more.
