    The Dream continues

by Randy on 10/13/23Neptune Theatre - Seattle

I cannot give an unbiased review of this band, as I have been listening to Tangerine Dream since 1973. And though Edgar has passed, I am thankful that the Dream continues.

    A different take on TD

by TD Fan on 10/3/23Lincoln Theatre - Washington

The show was excellent. I had seen TD two times before in Frankfurt Germany in 1997 and 2007. This one had a different feel in that it Thorsten played with two other musicians in contrast to the much larger and different set-ups in Germany. There was no percussionists or guitarist in this one. The lightshow was different...no lasers (and that was fine...I did not want to go blind after all). TD played many of the well-known compositions from the early albums (Stratosfear, Sorcerer, and Risky Business et al). The venue (the Lincoln Theatre) was a great place for the show. I had plenty of room to pick my own seat. It was the right size for TD to play. The acoustics were outstanding.

    Never again

by New listener on 10/3/23Lincoln Theatre - Washington

Tickets said to arrive at 6:30 which I’m super happy we didn’t do as u would have been in a room with no sound until the support act came on about 8:10, I guess there’s a super niche set of people who like random sounds but I’m not 1 of them. The support was barely music, random uncomfortable sounds with peak random being beads draped over the drums for just user 1 hour, after which we had 50mins of rain sounds until the main act turned up which was almost as disappointing sound wise as the support, we were on the brink of leaving when Tangerine Dream came on stage, the way the unenthused main guy was setup meant u couldn’t really tell if he was doing anything and it looked like he wasn’t doing much most of the time, we left before the end. I’ve been to see lots of music, this and the year after year awful sound at All Points East at the worst events I’ve been to. If you’re thinking about seeing Tangerine Dream, don’t bother, your time is much better spent doing literally anything else

    Louder than Bombs

    by J_Yed on 10/2/23Lincoln Theatre - Washington

Tangerine Dream was a great show that literally went for 2 and a 1/2 Hours! This was my first TD show, and they were technically excellent, but some of the songs performed were somewhat overly produced in my opinion, but this may be just a personal preference. Very loud so consider bringing noise-cancelling headphones!

Marvelous Performance in a Great Venue

by SoundQman on 10/2/23Lincoln Theatre - Washington

I went to a concert last night by my favorite musical group, Tangerine Dream. It was a marvelous performance in a great intimate venue with a good sound system. Their 100-minute performance was followed by an encore consisting of an improvised spontaneous composition lasting about 20-30 minutes. They do this at the end of every concert, creating a different spontaneous piece every time, which they call a “session.” Very impressive.

And as this brief article effectively explains, they maintain continuity with their 50+ year legacy. The interview therein explains what they are trying to accomplish now.
