A fun evening, starting with an unanticipated musical number. I'm not usually a big fan of country music, but he could really play his guitar well, and the songs he wrote were pretty funny. TJ & Dave put on a great show. For the most part, it moved very quickly, as the two actors slipped between multiple characters fluidly, and kept the dialog and repartee flowing. There were some points where it slowed a bit, and you could tell the actors were trying to come up with "what's next", but those were short and infrequent. Most of the evening, the audience just kept laughing!

    Surface level fun

by DUMBOviewer on 10/6/15Town Hall - New York

Funny moments, and amazing improv skills - worth the price of admission alone. Subject matter and issues they worked with were pretty top level, safe improv stuff. Hard to go deeper on the fly, I guess. I still had fun.

TJ and Dave - Masters of Improvisation

by SauseM on 7/29/15Lynn Redgrave Theater - New York

TJ and Dave create an entire one act play from nothingness and there is no one like them. Both actors seamlessly glide between characters. They're able to keep the audience along for the journey. Everything they do is interesting, from creating the characters to their ability to create props from nothing but the air around them. They are the most specific stage improvisers I've had the pleasure of seeing. I've seen TJ and Dave twice. Once in the home at the iO in Chicago and once in NYC at the Lynn Redgrave Theater. Both performances were some of the best improvisation I've ever seen. If you're new to long form improvisation, this is different than most improv that people have seen. This is not a "Whose Line is it Anyway" type of game improvisation. TJ and Dave take no suggestion from the audience, they simply start by saying "Trust us, this is all made up," and what follows is nothing short of magic.

    TJ and Dave

I was dissapointed. The topics were really boring - not current or interesting. SUre they are smart and quick on their feet - but it was very boring.
