Good show! Funny and smart...I'm a dog owner and it was spot-on. Worth going.

Rating: 4 out of 5by Anonymous on 11/19/15710 Main Street - Buffalo Rating: 4 out of 5 Must Love Dogs
by schuhshine on 11/17/15710 Main Street - BuffaloThis was an amusing little play filled with plenty of laughs. It was an interesting twist to see a human playing a dog, and the young lady who filled the role as Sylvia did a good job here. Her big, curly-haired pig tails made for cute 'dog ears', and her many affectations performing as a canine made the transition convincing. The story line was a bit droll but came to a happy ending. If you have an affinity for pets, especially dogs, it seems likely that you will enjoy this play.

Rating: 3 out of 5 Sylvia has changed
by Hammy5454 on 11/17/15710 Main Street - BuffaloI saw this cute little play about twenty years ago at Studio Arena. I was excited to have the opportunity to share this experience with my wife. While waiting for the show to start, we discussed getting season tickets and getting into a routine of attending and supporting the theatrical arts in general. The big disappointment for us was the (several) instances of political commentary. Really? The divisive path this country is taking is eroding us from the inside out. Now ... they cannot even present a simple, little play without inserting their political views? Yes, I am obviously, a Conservative and yes, I realize that the party of choice among the theater crowd is Liberal by nature but, can't we just leave our opinions out of some innocent entertainment? I have many friends on both sides of the aisle. We have our differences of opinions and we discuss them. That's what makes the world go around. However, there's a time and place for it. We would not insult each other by slipping in a political jab at an inappropriate time. Needless to say, we've quickly changed our minds about season tickets and additional support. Sure, we may attend a play here and there but, our enthusiasm has waned. I would like to see a play "commercial free". If only they could bridle their opinions when we are trying to enjoy the theater.
Rating: 4 out of 5 Very entertaining
by remington10 on 11/17/15710 Main Street - BuffaloI was excited to see this play and was not disappointed. I am a dog lover and found that the character playing Sylvia was wonderful! My husband was not expecting much as far as this play but was pleasantly surprised at how much he enjoyed it. The audience was laughing throughout. Definitely worth seeing!
Rating: 2 out of 5 Sylvia
by MKKW on 11/17/15710 Main Street - BuffaloThe cast and performance of play were good. However the swearing was over the top in my opinion. It showed the lack of intelligence in the producer. There are many other words that could have been chosen to get point across.

by MKKW on 11/15/15710 Main Street - BuffaloThe play was done nicely the characters did an excellent job. However my group and I were Very disappointed with the profane swearing. It was very distasteful and disturbed the joy of the play. I would never recommend this play strictly because of the use of these words. It degrades the intelligence of the producer.
Rating: 4 out of 5 Sylvia: Geting into a dog's head
by VJ222 on 11/11/15710 Main Street - BuffaloMy husband and I attended Sylvia at 710 Street on 11/7/15. We had also seen this play about 16 years earlier when this theater was called Studio Arena. This play is great for anyone who owns a dog. Sylvia's character is a dog, but is played by a woman. It is funny watching an adult woman doing dog mannerism's such as panting and scratching behind her ears. The story is a love triangle between a man and his wife and his female dog. If this play were a movie, it would be rated "R", as it has several F bombs and adult subject matter. it was fun getting into a dog's head since the person playing Sylvia was really human and could speak English. Dog lovers should love this play.
Rating: 3 out of 5 Sylvia was a most loveable dog
by KSinBflo on 11/10/15710 Main Street - BuffaloSylvia was a play made for dog lovers. Anyone who has ever had a dog can appreciate the humor and love that grows between a pet owner and their pet. It was wonderful to hear the feelings of Sylvia verbalized and it made total sense to the audience. It was an adorable and fun performance.
