    Ummm...Next time I'll pass

by MrKnowitALLN909 on 8/5/13Primm Valley Resort- Buffalo Bills Arena of the Stars - Primm

I was excited to the core of my being when I got notification from The Primm Valley Resort that Sylvia Browne would be in town doing a show. I immediately called my best friend and booked our room and tickets. Anticipation was getting the best of me and I decided to look up reviews since I was so excited about being in the presence of none other than famed psychic Sylvia Browne. The reviews were unfortunately grim, VERY GRIM, yet SPOT ON! The show as others stated was on time. That was a plus. Basically in a nutshell I'm pretty much echoing the reviews of those below because they were so accurate. Sylvia hands down is a comedienne. Psychic...well...im not so sure. The first part of the show we were all hanging onto her every word. She gave us a little background, talked about her family, failed marriage, about her husband that stole a million dollars, and introduced us to her new husband who wheeled her out in a wheelchair as she was still recovering from a broken hip. After giving us background she moved into the importance of surrounding ourselves with the white light and doing good and treating each other good etc. Now shes a great inspirational speaker, but lets face it, the majority of us were there to see her psychic abilities in action. After the introduction and history, she went into a short meditation which consisted of placing palms face up, inhaling and holding for 8 seconds, exhaling and repeating. We then went directly into "readings". Through a lottery/raffle system, audience members were randomly chosen based of the raffle ticket number they were given when we walked in. This is where the show went down hill. I honestly became quite uncomfortable because it really didnt seem as if Sylvia took any thought when giving answers. Now i must admit some people asked some "dumb" questions, but at the same time some answers were quick, random, and seemingly off the top of her head. One lady was so emotional that she had to keep allowing other people to go ahead of her while she collected herself. When she finally asked the question, it seemed as if Sylvia simply gave the most generic, blanket type response. Example, "My mom died xyz years ago. Is there a message she wants to give me?" Sylvia: "Yes, she says shes proud of you". But this was the basic type of response throughout the entire "Reading" session. I wont say she isnt psychic, but I think a more intimate reading with just a few audience members vs 50 might have given us an opportunity to see Sylvia really tune into the true person she was reading. Would I go again, sure for the first part, but when the readings begin, I would definitely leave. It was very uncomfortable as the audience began to all feel that Sylvias responses were full of bull.

    Not worth it

    by Philly2013 on 7/11/13Keswick Theater - Glenside

My mom and I just saw Sylvia Browne last night at the Keswick Theater in Glenside PA. We were very disappointed by it. The show was only an hour and a half long, and ended very abruptly at 9:30pm, with Sylvia on stage as she randomly goes "Ok thank you for coming to the show." And that was it, the curtain was shut. The first half of the show she talked about how to get rid of negativity in your life, negative thoughts, negative people, and letting it all go. She talked about clients and how she helped them overcome their problems. To add, at times it was hard to understand her since she slurred her words and her voice is extremely raspy. The readings during the second half of the show was the most disappointing part. She was extremely vague in all her answers she gave to people, and also seemed to rush it. Like, she really was only giving one word "generic" answers to people's questions, and trying to move them along as quick as possible. No in depth answers or advice given at all. The only thing I can say is that she is a good entertainer, she is very witty and made the audience laugh, but that was the only good thing about her. I Think its her time to retire!! I would NOT reccommend anyone to see her show.

Sadly I think it is time for Sylvia to retire! I went to this show with my sister and mother who are both huge fans, we spent 50$ a pop and it was not worth the money. She has gotten more impatient with age and seemed to come off as cold. Her intro monologue seemed like she was trying to make everyone laugh rather than show her talents. Then when she finally had audience members come up to the stage for questions they got an entire 30 seconds of her time. There was only 1 moment that everyone got excited. Other than that a lot of people just left the show.....

    Extremely Disappointing

    by tambo99 on 6/6/13Birchmere - Alexandria

I have never written a bad review before, but for the very first time I feel that I must share my disappointing experience because it was truly very bad. I went to see Sylvia at the Birchmere and it was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. I had expected her to be more personable with those who eagerly came to see her, and she was trite and brief with all of her responses. As mentioned in previous reviews the show started with her talking with the audience followed by a very convoluted meditation, and as bored and confused I was with what she was saying....it actually ended up being the best part of the show. After speaking and meditating for 30 minutes, her husband asked those who had spent $100 for their tickets to ask Sylvia a question to line up on either side of the stage where someone would confirm your ticket and you would be able to ask her a question. One question only..!! This ended up being about 2/3s of the people at the event, so the lines were very long. As emotional, excited, and eager faces continued through the line with lightening speed, Sylvia gave them trite and snappy answers to their questions before they barely finished asking it. People were crying and emotionally distraught as they stood in front of her, and she barely gave their question a moment of pause before she gave them an answer that appeared in many cases to be made up. She told people they should leave their husbands, that their parents were dying, that they should leave their jobs and move across the country, that their health problems would worsen or get better, and she told anyone who asked about finding their soulmate that it would happen in September. She barely listened to any of the questions before giving a reply that could possibly change the destiny of those who asked. It was so horrible to see the confusion on the faces of those who asked questions as she abruptly said next and turned to the other side of the stage for the next question. One woman told a story of how lost she felt because everyone close to her in her life was dying and all she felt were endings and she was crying as she asked what she needed in her life.... and all Sylvia said was "beginnings" and turned to the other side of the stage for the next question. Another person was crying as she explained that her father had just died two weeks ago and she wanted to know if he was alright.... and Sylvia sarcastically replied "he hasn't even crossed over yet" followed by "He's fine" before she turned for the next question. Horrible....!! Everyone asked what their spiritual guide's name was, and it literally seemed as though she was making up names and she gave the same one to many people. Everyone who asked about a career change was told they should become a writer or a mechanic.... it was all that generic. I felt so bad for some of the people that I wanted to get up and leave the venue and would have done so if I wasn't sitting in the front. At the end of the evening when she was in the lobby prepared to sign copies of her books, she was sitting there alone as people walked out to the parking lot without bothering to waste any more of their time getting a signature. There was a time when the line would have been out the door to speak with her, but I truly believe everyone was so disappointed in the evening that they didn't care anymore. That was affirmation that I was not imagining how bad her show was. If you are considering going to one of her shows, save yourself some time and energy and simply call an physic 800 number where you might at least get someone on the phone who will ask a few questions before giving you a mindless answer. A complete waste of time....!!!!

Like the books, hate the show

by anitza on 3/28/13Fortune Bay - Tower

I recently had a chance to see Sylvia in person. She did 20 minutes of background and some comedy,( most of which we have heard before), 20 minutes of meditation and 40 minutes of readings. There are certain questions she won't allow such as "what is my mission in life". You end up hearing a lot of questions such as what is my spirit guide's name? or... how many angels are with me? Answer: "you are surrounded by three angels, one man, two women and your guides name is Ethel". You tend to hear this over and over again. The people chosen to ask a question via a drawing of tickets are only allowed one question without follow-up. If she wants the show to be more interesting, she should go in depth with some of the people, otherwise it looks as if she is just making it all up. People were pushing Sylvia's line of expensive yet not impressive jewelry. Sylvia stated in one of her books that she would lose her talent if she tries to make extra profit off of her talent.... perhaps she has!

    Lackluster performance

by jermar11 on 1/16/13Sovereign Center for the Perfoming Arts - Reading

When Sylvia first started the show there was a glimmer of hope. For about 5 minutes she spoke of the universal concept of Angels in all religions. She also spoke of the Mother God and how Western religions are lacking in this belief. I found this interesting and wished she would have continued with that approach. From there - I dont know what happened. Stories were muddled and confusing, making little sense. Everything became a punchline. So much, that we thought she may be channelling Phyllis Diller. For approximately 45 minutes, Sylvia rambled on about topics such as bringing our troops home, high taxes, and healthcare. She made a point of defending her inaccurate prediction regarding the Presidential election, saying "It doesnt matter who they put in there, They are all bad". In her defense, she did seem to appeal to a fair share of the audience who dutifully laughed and agreed with each comment. Then we did a 5 minute meditation which was also confusing. The direction was unclear and it seemed as if she was just making it up as she went along. Then came the audience participation part of the show. Tickets were dispensed as we walked in, however, I heard a number of people say they did not receive one. Numbers were called and each person was instructed to line up at the 2 microphones placed in front of the stage. Most questions were the generic variety -- Are there any messages for me from the other side? Will I have more grandchildren? Is my father proud of me? What is my spritual guide's name and how many angels are surrounding me? Each time the question was answered almost faster than it was asked. When people tried to ask additional questions to clarify, they were told only one question per person. I understand this was done to allow as many people as possible to participate, but it seemed as if she blurted out an answer and immediately looked for the next person in line. It was more about quantity than quality. The show was over in 90 minutes. I gave the show a Fair rating. Some people seemed to enjoy it, however, most just looked bored. Sylvia looked great and seems to have recovered from her health issues very well. I admire that she is still able to handle the hectic schedule of her tour. If you are a Sylvia fan, you may like it. But don't expect the wow factor.

Not like she use to be....

by jersey717 on 7/25/12Imperial Palace Casino - Biloxi

I saw Sylvia about 2 years ago & absolutely loved her. She started the show with some lecturing ; moved on to mediation; then made some connections for the audience and then answered some questions (this 2nd part of the show was awesome). This time she lectured for about an hour - telling the same stories about her parents & firends that we've heard before...then she did the meditation again and then they called up people wtih questions that had a picture of Sylvia's face on their ticket (don't know how certain people got these tickets but there was a good number of them). Then she gets 2 fish bowls & starts pulling out more names of people to come up & ask questions....the tickets in the bowl were never mixed and she was taking them out in clumps and whole rows were being called (ie: balcony row 12 seat 4; balcony row 12 seat 5; balcony row 12 seat 6; balcony row 12 seat 7; balcony row 12 seat 8) it was crazy. This happened repeatedly....There were people sitting in front of us in "the pit" that went up to ask questions during the 1st round (the people with Sylvia's picture) and then went again during the fishbowl round. Then most of the people go up there and ask...how do I know my mom who passed on is around me (and she tells them birds or butterflies) - she told this same answer to at least 5 people. I guess everyone in the great beyond sends birds or butterflies to their loved ones. Then you get these people who spend a large amount of time up at the mic telling Sylvia how much they love her and may finally get around to their question. I think that instead of submitting your seat number you should submit your question on the back and she can call out your seat number & read your question and answer it and it would move along much quicker. She also needs to go back to doing audience connections. It's the part of the show everyone loves & it validates her.

    Sylvia Is Amazing

by LoveAndLight on 6/18/12Sylvia Browne 50th Anniversary Tour - Milwaukee

Sylvia is an amazing soul. All her life, putting herself out there and pushing herself to the limit trying to reach as many people as she can. This woman showed up for the event, even though she had endured hip surgery and broken her arm in two places, just so that she wouldn't disappoint everyone who was hoping to see her and get to ask their question. I was honored to be sitting there and just be connected to her beautiful and positive energy. The event started on time, she spoke for awhile and gave out important information to everyone on how to protect and take care of ourselves and each other. There were books and jewelry you could purchase before or after the event and she even signed books afterwards. Everyone received a lottery ticket upon entrance for a chance to ask their question. She answered many questions and kept pulling names and answering questions until the event was over. So many people received the guidance they needed to hear from her. I love her sense of humor. Her teachings are important for all of us to learn, use, and help us move forward on our paths. There were many lessons and confirmations I received through others questions and things Sylvia spoke about. Her meditation was beautiful. Part of it mentioned being on top of a hill and looking down at a meadow filled with golden yellow flowers. The very next day running an errand I had to take care of, I was amazed to see a large area filled with brilliant golden yellow flowers in bloom that only the day before were nowhere near ready to open. I knew it was validation of having experienced her meditation the moment I turned the corner because the golden color was so brilliant and alive. She was very kind when she spoke about WI, saying that she sees a lot of white light here. Saying that there are many spiritual beings here -- a lot of people working on their spirituality. That's what it's all about. People being in a place of love and light changing this world one person at a time because it ripples out to so many more. Sylvia helped a lot of people at this event and everyone that received guidance was supposed to be there and learn something from Sylvia and each other. It was a wonderful event and I was blessed to be there and be a witness to all that took place. Thank you Sylvia for all you have done for me and for all of us here. You are always in my prayers and blessings. Love you Sylvia...

    Once again a great show!

by SeattleGnostic on 5/20/12Emerald Queen - Tacoma

This was the 7th time I’ve been at one of Sylvia’s lecture. Once again, I was glad I went. But then my expectations were a bit different than a number of the other reviewers. I wasn’t disappointed that I didn’t get to ask a question since I’m only mildly interested in Sylvia as a psychic. It’s her spiritual teachings that engage me. But as she would be the first to say, everyone is here on their own mission for God. They need to follow their own hearts to find their own personal truth. It’s why she says, “Take what you want and leave the rest.” I’ve always watched her lectures with great interest. I've found them to be both enjoyable and educational. She really can be quite funny and this year was no exception. I believe some don’t understand that her jokes about her mother and ex-husbands serve a spiritual purpose. At least, this is my own personal take: all her jokes and stories seem to say: “We’ve all had disappointments and things happen that sometimes really get to us. And that’s OK. We’re all only human and Earth is a very, very tough place. God loves us unconditionally just as we are and totally understands. So, let it all go and just accept and love yourself.” And after all the laughter, it’s time for the mediation which I believe is the central thrust of the show. And after talking with people who attended, I’ve found that many have had a profound experience during it. So, like everything else in life, it all depends upon what you’re looking for. I’ve been practicing the spiritual path outlined by Sylvia and her spirit guides for the last seven years and I have become a very happy, self-accepting and contented person. I also regularly attend a local study group as well as the weekly Celebrations at Novus Spiritus in Seattle. I can’t recommend Sylvia’s philosophy strongly enough. To each their own, and God bless.

I cannot believe she charges and that we actually paid for this. I was so excited to go and get to see first hand something amazing. Her husband came out and gave a little speech about her broken hip for a few minutes and then wheeled her out in a wheelchair. She the proceeded to talk about it for the next hour while making a few jokes here and there. Once the hour was up she said we were going to now do a meditation. Someone from the audience yelled out "Finally". The meditation was horrible. We were supposed to imagine several different colors surrounding us. The general idea of it was probably originally a good one but she totally messed it up by compounding different story's together so it didn't make any sense. After that some one rolled out a barrel full of tickets and for the next 15 minutes she slowly called out numbers. She the gave each person 15-20 seconds to ask one question only. They would ask if there loved one was happy on the other side and she would say yes and then look to the next person in line and say "next". The next person would ask something similar and she would give a simple answer and then say "next". Such a HUGE waste of money. I agree with everyone else. She has lost her touch and should quit before everyone finds out that she is a fraud. She did nothing psychic the whole show.
