Mrs. Lovett made this show worth it. She was outstanding! Todd had a nice deep dark voice but fell flat in a few areas. Wish he would’ve kept the victims in place a few minutes after doing the deed so the audience could see the blood... after all, that’s why we were all there. Character casting: Anthony and Toby should have been switched. Both had strong voices but the smaller stature of the actor playing Anthony would’ve worked better as Toby. Costumes: Sailor uniform needed altered to fit better in his shoulders, Johanna was a wrinkled mess. Props: where were they? I’ve seen better use in High School theater. Example: why couldn’t you use a REAL piece of paper when Todd wrote Turpin? As a last comment, I purchased tickets waaaay in advance. I had my pick of any seat. I didn’t want to be too close to the stage. Settled on a row G. Took a friend to her first play. I was sorely disappointed to see that we were unable to enjoy the ambiance of the theaters beauty and were stuck in the last row in chairs set up on the actual stage. Not what I thought I was playing for. In the end though, I enjoyed seeing one of my favorite movies come to life. I love the music and story. What else is there to do on a Saturday night anyway? Appreciated the work that went into it.
Very uncomfortable seating. Many people left during the intermission because of the uncomfortable seating. Having the audience sit onstage is a great idea, but is meaningless if everyone is squirming in their seats the whole night.
awesome show.....acting and music were great....would recommend the show
We have seen Sweeney Todd played several times and Boise State’s performance was the best! The acting was incredible, every character! The stage set was ingenious. The costumes evolved with the story; integral to the story line. The sound was perfect!
Really good cast including ensemble. Excellent job with difficult score. Set was inventive without being distracting. Costuming was fun. Choreography compliments the show well. Competes with any professonial theater production. go see it!!!
I really enjoyed this play! The cast was amazing and the talent really showed. Everything from the set to the costumes was amazing! Definitely a must see!
Fun event with great performances by the young BSU actors!
Surprisingly delightful quality production from the orchestra to the actors and actresses. Would recommend you see this dark comedy.
Fantastic Show. The University of Florida has in my opinion one of the best musical theater program in the country. I have never seen such talented college students ever!
