Supernatural Santana - Las Vegas
I was not happy with the music ... Carlos Santana hardly played...he showcased his band and mostly his girl/wife?? I'm not interested in any of them..not that they didn't play well...I'm just not interested...I/We were interested in hearing him play his new and Old music...

Great show! Carlos is 67 years old and still rocking it out with the best of them.

Santana rocks today just like he did in '69
The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas - Las Vegas
I've seen Santana about a dozen times over the years, and this was the second time I saw him at The Joint. Close your eyes and you won't be able to tell the difference between 1969 and 2011...Carlos is simply amazing. His old songs still generate more energy than any other band I've ever heard (including Led Zepplin, the Rolling Stones, The Who, the Allman Bros., Eric Clapton, and many, many more)...Black Magic Woman, Jingo, and Soul Sacrifice were outstanding. The only part of the show I didn't really care for was his opening (AC/DC's "Back In Black") - why he chose that to open, who knows? But it brought immediate calls for "Play the old stuff!" from the crowd. He also played a few numbers from "Supernatural" which were ok, but without the original accompanying artists from that album, the songs fell a bit flat (although Carlos's guitar work still soared). Overall, I will see him every time I can. He is one of the best ever, and if you haven't seen Carlos Santana yet, there is no better place than The Joint to catch him.

Unabashed, Undiminished Santana!
The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas - Las Vegas
Never occurred to me all these years that Carlos wasn't lead singer on all his hits. He did sing a bit and sounded OK. His guitar playing hasn't suffered and he executed his trademark style of lead guitar perfectly along with some additional searing and rough sounding licks on some tunes with which I was not familiar. I was amused that he led off with a totally "Santana-ized" version of AC/DC's "Back in Black" that sounded much better than the original in my view. Don't know who the backing musicians were but they were all first rate. Each got a feature of his talents in the show. This included the heavy percussion section with percussionist, drummer, and well-tuned bongos player. The trumpet and trombone were a nice touch and the two brass instruments gave a big sound and a fine performance. The backing band also featured an excellent bassist who didn't plod like so many do and who turned in a feature performance on his bass that rivaled Santana's lead work. Most importantly, everyone stayed in time. What I liked about Santana was the fact that he didn't embellish his hit songs until they were unrecognizable as so many artists do when live in concert. He played some of his early hits and they sounded much the same as they do when I crank them on our stereo at home. Saw Elvis at the Tarrant County Convention Center in 1976 and he butchered his songs horribly in my opinion. Never was an Elvis fan anyway so nothing's worse than hearing his hit tunes mangled. I've seen several rock acts live through the years and many fade badly without studio gimmickry but Santana was the real deal. Enjoy this show for its musicianship and its attention to detail in rendering your favorite Santana hits.

Top 5 concert ever!
The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas - Las Vegas
My husband and I happened to be in Vegas the night of Santanas final night at the HardRock. Neither of us had ever seen Santana in concert. It was our final night in Vegas and we thought, we have spent enough money gambling and eating, let's do something different. I can not say enough good things about this concert. We are children of the 70's and have seen at least a hundred concerts between us through out our lives. Stones, Dead, Allmans, Foreigner, you name it! This Santana concert at The Joint in the Hard Rock is easily one of the top five concert experiences ever! Carlos and his band have aged to perfection. Over three hours of the best music and fun ever. Nonstop fun and dancing by the entire venue. Including a surprise comedy break with George Lopez. Just and awesome experience and could not stopping talking about the show for days.

Santana rocked the Hard Rock!
The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas - Las Vegas
Loved it...the venue was awesome and Carlos did not disappoint! My husband was in 7th heaven...he had been wanting to see Santana for a very long time. He was very impressed by the set up there at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. A nice surprise was George Lopez doing a little routine...hysterical!
