Sumo wrestling at the Garden was incredible. Organized staff. Super cool event with giant men slamming each other on the mat. I just wish someone would have stopped people from walking up the aisles when the matches were going. On several occasions the folks trying to get to and from seats right as the next round was starting so they would block whole sections’ view of the dojo. Still a really cool event though.
The event itself, the athletes, the crowd interaction was all great! The issue is that the seating wasn’t graded nearly enough and you couldn’t see much below the athletes shoulders, I ended up watching most of the event on the screens on either side of the theatre. We were actually offered floor seats when we first came in, but they were in the 5th row - zero elevation so the view was even worse so we went back to our original seats. I will definitely watch more sumo events, but probably on tv. It’s not worth the money or the hour and a half trip to the city to not be able to see the actual event - that’s the whole point.
Got the tickets and didn't know what to expect but I'm sold. Now a sumo fan. Very fun.

Great event. Entertaining, engaging and fun. The production is incredible and our group had an amazing time.
This was a great show. It was lots of fun for all ages, and supported a good cause. It's nice to have something different come to town. The only negative was the big metal fence in front of us.
First, our seats, purchased on Ticketmaster site, did not exist! They did accommodate by giving us seats on the floor, where our purchased seats were on the first tier. Floor seats were in the back, with people congregating in front of us the entire show. Original seat location had an unobstructed view. Advertisements made it appear the professional sumo wrestlers would have areal fight, but it was staged. They also showed participants in the inflated sumo costumes, which would have been fun to watch. Didn't happen. Tickets said start time was 7:00. Didn't start until 8:00. If it hadn't been a charitable event benefiting theYWCA, I would be livid. Instead just displeased.
Great night out with kids. Different event for family night very engaging throughout.
We loved the sumo matches!! Very entertaining!! The kids loved it also they loved cheering for their favorites!
Will never attend another event at turning stone due to a rude usher and the way he talked and treated people. Even my 8 year old son. We did nothing wrong.
