    Sumi Jo Primadonna Supreme!!

by Fiddler1954 on 11/7/16Music Hall At Fair Park - Dallas

Sumi Jo is one of the greatest sopranos of our time. Her recital on Friday NOV. 4th,2016 was a testament to that fact. Her total commitment and honesty in performance of each piece was a real pleasure to hear. Especially gripping were her performance of several Korean Folk Songs. I found myself dabbing the tears from my eyes. She gave several encores at the end and left the audience wanting more.

    Fantastic show

by SrgnFsh on 11/7/16Music Hall At Fair Park - Dallas

I am a long time fan of Sumi Jo. This event, which was her 30th anniversary for her debut, was mainly advertised to the Korean community. She is not quite as "fresh" as she was, but is still the world's best soprano in my opinion. Amazing!!!

Sumi Jo... it was an average performance...

by OtisFashion on 11/6/10Royce Hall - UCLA - Los Angeles

I expected to see her to the end, but she left right before intermission. I don't think she gave 100% on the stage, instead Tomomi Nishimoto gave to the audience what she is made out of.

Very inspiring, breath capturing performance by conductor Tomomi Nishimoto. She is one of the best conductor I have ever seen in decades.

Tomomi Nishito has a new fan

by Anonymous on 11/4/10Royce Hall - UCLA - Los Angeles

Sumi Jo was very personable and funny. Tomomi Nishimoto was incredible, gracious and feminine, yet forceful and precise. She directed the orchestra very tighly. The Chaikovsky Symphony was just superb.

    Dramatic and Beautiful Finale!

by AndanteCantabile0422 on 11/4/10Royce Hall - UCLA - Los Angeles

I was swept away from the beginning. Ms. Tomomi Nishimoto's tact has brought the best sounds and harmony out of Pacific Symphony ever! I never heard Pacific Symphony sings and dances that clearly with the first piece on the program: La forza del destino Overture by Verdi. Tchaikovsky Symphony No.5 brought me vivid recollections of my childhood winter memories...Snowy fields, icy deep woods and cold valley...and the majestic sunset on snow covered lofty peak...beautiful finale with passion. Amazing! Diva Sumi Jo displayed variety of her voices. I think the choice of pieces from La Traviata was excellent: It was like seeing a very best abridged version of the Opera...Dramatic and it expresses Violetta's love, passion and death...Brava! I look forward to Tomomi Nishimoto and Sumi Jo concert again soon! (I am thinking about going their concert at Orange County Performing Arts Center on this Friday as well...!)

    Sumi Jo Rock the LA

by bluebead on 11/4/10Royce Hall - UCLA - Los Angeles

It was wonderful performance. The Tomomi director and Sumi Jo Showed more than perfect on the Stage. Their program looks simple, though, it felt like holding the whole opera.
