    Suburbia

by Shah2314 on 6/3/14Oak Point Park & Nature Preserve - Plano

Great time. Selection of bands was terrific! Very well run. Looking forward to coming back next year and bringing more friends from Houston to enjoy the weekend in Plano. Thank you.

    suburbia

by ssmchuncky on 5/20/14Oak Point Park & Nature Preserve - Plano

The setup was good and well organized but umbrellas have to be allowed based on no trees.also water stations have to be setup like at acl in Austin Texas. Two of stages were not easily identified. Good bands... and better will come as it gets bigger. I came from Austin and asked several people in Plano about Suburbia and no one knew what I was talking about. ... so better advertising. .... billboard.

    Great Inaugural Festival

by ChaStrength on 5/16/14Oak Point Park & Nature Preserve - Plano

I am an avid festival goer. I've been to large festivals like Coachella and very small ones like Breakaway Music Fest. This was a great festival mostly because it's location. The hills and the trees gave it a very unique feel that I haven't gotten anywhere else. The stages were far apart and there was plenty of room to sit or stand anywhere. Good names for the first event too. My concerns however, are as follows: #1 There absolutely has to be better access to free water filling. One garden hose is not enough and the water quality was questionable. People need free clean water if they are to be outside dancing and walking all day. #2 Parking. The event's price itself was enough to allow free parking. $20 for parking on top of the ticket price just seems like you're trying to weasel more money out of the people. Many found that annoying and rather insulting.

It was a great atmosphere! Well spread apart, the stages were. And it got a little buggy by the main stage, but only if you sat down. Other stages were bug free when we sat on our towels. I absolutely had the best time!

by TeganandSara45 on 5/14/14Oak Point Park & Nature Preserve - Plano

It was awesome! I had so much fun! It was the inaugural year of that festival & I think they did a good job being the first one! I sure hope they bring it back & continued to make this a yearly event!

Suburbia, the next great festival - DFW area!

by TexasNate on 5/13/14Oak Point Park & Nature Preserve - Plano

Suburbia Music Festival was an incredible oasis in the middle of a natre preserve. Definitely an unexpected gem. Plenty of good local food and well organized stage setup - three unique elevated opportunities to view music. Key improvements for future years would be putting more into the lineup for more up and comers and headliners, making sure the supply of drinking water is well-supported, and last, be prepared for $20 minimum parking and a long walk from the lots.

Pretty awesome festival for its first time.

by Quanzi30 on 5/12/14Oak Point Park & Nature Preserve - Plano

Loved every bit of it. Plano is my hometown and could not miss a festival of this caliber in my backyard. The only recommendations I have are to hopefully make next year a little bit better, but are mostly general things... 1. Water. Multiple water stations are a must have for a festival in Texas. It's hot. And people will only pay 4$ for a bottle of water until a certain point. Sell them for 2$? I'd buy them all day. The sprinklers were a life saver. I don't know if it was on purpose, but they were awesome to have in the middle of the day. As was the water truck that came and just sprayed water. Water water water! 2. Portapottys in the parking lot. You dont need 57 of them. Just 2. A mile to the venue and a mile back for my mom was pretty far to have to hold it. Just convenient. 3. Shirts with the actual logo on them! I bought one because I had to, but one with the actual logo of the festival would have been cool to have. 4. The beach balls were awesome! definitely a good idea with those. 5. Delay towers in the main stage? not sure if its large enough for it, but with larger acts next year it could maybe help? Overall, loved the lineup for the first year. Loved the layout with the other 2 stages somewhat hidden between the trees. Awesome time. Can't wait until next year...

    great site, great lineup

by hellokitty3 on 5/12/14Oak Point Park & Nature Preserve - Plano

I really enjoyed the variety of acts that were at the festival. Marketing for the event could have been better. Definitely need to correct the lack of water issue. Shouldn't have to pay for bottled water in Texas heat. Would also like healthier food options. Site was great for this type of event. Really liked that the main stage was at the bottom of a hill so that everyone could see.

Well organized. J. Cole, David Guetta, Blue October, 3EB, and American Authors = unforgettable.
