by Anonymous on 2/3/13The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver SpringAlthough they got off to a bit of a lackluster start with The Sloth and Peaches en Regalia, both not very danceable, Strange Design brought good grooving funk with a Tube > Sand > Tube and a rocking Gumbo. The beginning of Stash was off, but they recovered quickly into a strong cover. First set 7/10. The second set, the entire Rift album, was stellar. From Rift to Silent in the Morning, they shone, especially in the fiery Maze, a menacing My Friend My Friend, and a very thoughtful FEFY. 9/10.
