Raised in Southern California, the ever-entrepreneurial Aoki had already built his own record label, Dim Mak, by his early 20s. Boasting releases by MSTRKRFT and Klaxons, Dim Mak put on some of the biggest underground shows of the 2000s in New York and LA, helping Aoki launch his own DJ career. Following popular remixes for Drake, Bloc Party, and Kid Cudi, Aoki released his debut album Wonderland in 2012, earning a Grammy nomination in the Best Dance Album category. Teaming up with rap rock pioneers Linkin Park in 2013 for the single "A Light That Never Comes Out," Aoki once again burned up the dance charts, thrilling fans by bringing the band on stage at select performances.
