My friends and I stumbled on Stephie a few months ago, and when we found out she and the band were playing on my birthday, it seemed like a perfect way to celebrate. And we certainly weren't let down. Stephie, Keith and John played a great, up-tempo set, dealt ably with some technical difficulties (not a venue problem, an instrument was acting up), and kept everybody in good spirits.
They played some of the well-known songs from their debut EP, as well as some new stuff that sounded great, and a wonderful cover of "Pumped Up Kicks" that utilized Stephie's sultry style quite well.
Someday, probably not too far in the future, Stephie Coplan and the Pedestrians are going to blow up, and when they do, it'll be great to be able to say I saw them when they were still on the rise.
