Stephen Schwartz has some fine friends

by SchwartzFan on 3/18/15New Jersey Performing Arts Center - Newark

A very enjoyable evening hearing some of Stephen's hits sung by himself and three very talented vocalists. Stephen shared the iterations of the song "The Wizard and I" and discussed what lead to the changes. The audience got some insight into his creative genius. The theater was intimate and acoustics divine.

Stephen Schwartz is such an amazing songwriter and this concert was awesome. He is a master story teller and such a warm and humorous man. His friends are fantastic vocalists.

Time flies when you are having fun

by LMeadowlark on 3/17/15New Jersey Performing Arts Center - Newark

I could not believe I was there for 90 minutes. It seemed like I had just sat down and it was over. The performers were fantastic and to have Steven create mosh ups of his own work was even more incredible. For anyone who enjoys Broadway they would enjoy this event.

Great show. I really learned a lot about the writing process. I did think, as other people , that I had gotten tickets for wicked. I saw the wicked picture and Steven Swartz name so I went online right away to order. I know Wicked sales out quickly, so I ordered and did not look back again until the night prior to print out tickets again. It was then that I noticed I bought without reading carefully. A lesson well learned. I should have known as the price was too good to be true. After the show, I heard some other women say, "I thought I was coming to see wicked." The show was very satisfying and I enjoyed the guest performers.

Defying Gravity: Stephen Schwartz and Friends

by AKASparky on 2/6/11California Theatre of the Performing Arts - San Bernardino

F A B U L O U S!!! Stephen Schwartz, the prolific songwriter/lyracist + Brodway's Liz Callaway + Cabaret singer, Scott Coulter gave us their absolute BEST performance! Scott's range and emotion were touching. Solos, duets and trio . . . most entertaining!

    disapointed

by Lizzieloca on 2/6/11California Theatre of the Performing Arts - San Bernardino

I must have misread the advertisement, I thought that I was going to see the play wicked had I known that it was the writer who would be singing a few songs with a couple of his friends I would have never purchased a ticket. I will chalk this up to lesson learned and make sure to read the fine print in the future.
