Intimate night with Colbert & Gaffigan
by Birdlegs on 6/29/23This was such a great way to spend our evening! Our 13 year old son is interested in comedy and he was so engaged in how Jim Gaffigan has navigated his career.

Expected much more from Stephen Colbert! He made very little attempt at being funny during his interview with Jim. Jim Gaffigan was charming and funny!
We went to this event thinking that we would see a monologue from Stephen Colbert, and a stand-up routine from Jim Gaffigan. It turned out that we never saw either thing. It was very disappointing. We waited and waited for Stephen's interview of Jim to wrap up, but it never did. We saw a lot of people leaving the theatre early, as we also did at 10pm. I feel that the show was very misrepresented to everyone who purchased a ticket. It should have been made clear that this was going to be Stephen Colbert interviewing Jim Gaffigan. If that was made clear, we would not have purchased tickets. Again, it was extremely disappointing.
I didn’t realize that it was a conversation between Stephen Colbert and Jim Gaffigan. I thought they would both do stand-up comedy. It was still funny and a good way to get to know both of them as people. It was a great that the event was raising money for a good cause.
Such a fun evening - it was a conversation between two comedians!
I went with friends for a night of entertainment and laughter. I am a big fan of Stephen Colbert and given the writers strike, have missed his humor. It was not clear when I purchased tickets that this was a fund raiser for Montclair Film. The format, (interview) was not anticipated and disappointing. My group left early and noticed that we were not the only ones that expected a night of entertainment far different than what we experienced.
Was NOT expecting a poorly facilitated interview when we purchased these tickets. Was expecting to laugh and well not much of that was happening. At first I thought maybe I misinterpreted but as many around us harumphed and fidgeted and then began leaving, it became pretty clear we were all duped. I asked people in the lobby after the show and they agreed they were expecting stand up as well. Sorry... this was a complete MISS.
This was a great night, at NJPAC; Stephen Colbert’s interview of Jim Gaffigan was extremely entertaining, and we enjoyed it immensely!
Two of my favorites! Great seats, beautiful theater, and staff was outstanding!
Was so disappointed with the Colbert and Gaffigan show on Saturday. Two of the funniest guys around and Colbert interviews Gaffigan! That was not funny! Was not billed as an interview. Thought it was going to be a comedy set.
