This event was fantastic and well worth the price. I have never attended a ballet event where so many top-level ballet dancers performed. Truly impressive. A real gem not to be missed.
The dancers were awesome. The costumes were great. Everything else, the set, lighting, music fell flat. Boooooring. Zzzz. The theatre was dirty.
The Stars of the Russian Ballet at the Detroit Opera House was absolutely the best performance of professional dancers that I have ever seen. The dancers were all so entertaining. There was a good mixture of classical ballet as well as contemporary pieces. I will definitely go again when they come next year. My favorites...Patricia Zhou & Anton Korsakov in Giselle-Patty was lifted like a feather, so beautiful & graceful. Daniil Simkin very entertaining and so fun to watch. Olga Pavlova performing Dying Swan! Courtney Richardson & Raphael Coumes-Marquet performed Opus 11 which was so touching it made me cry. But I think everyone was my favorite!!!!
Wow, wow, wow!!! The performances this year were the best yet...this Gala just gets better every year. Stars of Russian Ballet has a little of everything for everyone. From the breathtaking grace and fragility of Patricia Zhou as Giselle, the intoxicating contemporary styling of Courtney Richardson, the flawless delicacy of Olga Pavlova's Dying Swan, the brilliantly emotive Andrei Ivanov, to the gravity defying leaps by the inimitable Daniil Simkin (just to mention a few!), the audience was captivated by each new moment from beginning to end. The applause and cheers could have been from an audience twice the size...I will not be surprised when next year's Gala sells out immediately. I'll make sure to be among the first in line at the box office!
Absolutely amazing. The dancers were beautiful, especially loved Patricia Zhou and Daniil Simkin. Such incredible jumping by the male dancers!
The show was absolutely amazing! I will go again next year and highly recommend it to anyone who loves dance. I loved the fact that not only was classical ballet danced but also very contemporary pieces. Definitely worth the money!
Everything about the show was great. The two dances in the beginning featured local students who worked with the profess s&l dancers over the past two weeks. Everything was top notch.
