    Stanley Clarke is legendary

by Doctor Dan on 4/4/23Birchmere - Alexandria

Stanley Clarke is everything I expected and more. The Birchmore music theatre is also a great concert venue.

    Jam session

    by M. F. on 4/2/23

Stanley is a great bassist. But I don’t know if I will attend another one of his concert. First, most of the songs picked were not his hits! At other times, I felt like I was being put to sleep listening to a “quiet storm”. I was disappointed that he didn’t play more solos. Kudos to the drummer and keyboardist, they were spectacular! Corea was a great musician, but I didn’t pay to hear his music. Overall I enjoyed the night out. I think his next concert, he should say that it will be a jam session.

    Surprised

by Cruise on 4/1/23Birchmere - Alexandria

Stanley Clark is super talented and arguably the best bass player ever. I was surprised that he only played one song from his own album. His drummer seemed to carry the show. Can’t say I would see him again if I can’t here music from any of his recorded albums .

    Bass players bass man

by MDbassman on 4/1/23Birchmere - Alexandria

Stanley was awesome and the backing band was tight. Stanley’s experience coupled with the energy of his young band was a great mix. He was even willing to let them share in his light. A true master musician and one of my favorite bass players of all time!!

    Great Concert, Great Venue

by Al B. on 3/29/23The Vogel at Count Basie Center for the Arts - Red Bank

Stanley Clarke and the band were amazing, doing a mix of accoustic and electric numbers. The venue was great, with good sound, easy parking, and a good bar.

    Awesome Music, Awful Venue

by Cosmophile on 3/27/23Ludlow Garage Cincinnati - Cincinnati

As expected, Stanley Clarke delivered an electrifying musical performance exemplified by his undeniable bass virtuosity (standup and electric). But Clarke was also joined by extraordinary young musicians, especially drummer Mike Mitchel and pianist Beka Goochiashvili. Remember those names; I think we'll hear much more from them. The show was one of the best I've heard in a long time in terms of music and energy. I want to emphasize the word best that I've "heard." The sound system was incredible, the musicianship impeccable, and the music energized the audience, but the venue, The Ludlow Garage, is awful, particularly from a stage visibility perspective. I sat in the middle of the main seating area, in what would generally be "good" seats in most venues. I spent the entire time peering around the heads of other patrons who were busy doing the same, and all the while, I kept thinking, why wasn't this show at The Taft or Memorial Hall? In addition to poor stage visibility, the floor near my seat where my feet rested was disgustingly sticky from what I imagined was a dried unknown liquid! This poor design is unfortunate since The Ludlow Garage hosts great artists I'd love to see, but after this experience, only if I'm seated in the first couple of rows.
