by Palmlady on 11/25/13St. Jerome's Laneway Festival - Rochester Hills

I forgot to say we drove (carpooled) from Peoria, IL to Rochester Hills, MI to see the guys, When you meet them they treat you like you are family. They are WONDERFUL.

    Fantastic, but dehydrating!

by shlshh on 9/22/13Meadow Brook Music Festival - Rochester Hills

The lineup was fantastic, the weather was great, and there crowd was incredible. It was easy enough to get up close to your favorite bands (Dismemberment Plan, My Brightest Diamond, The National) but there were still enough people so that you weren't standing alone. My biggest gripe: the bottle rules. Not being able to bring your own (empty) water bottle to an all day festival when it is over 80 out is just plain ridiculous. At least they didn't charge for the restrooms...

    Great line-up

by Dpolovina on 9/21/13Meadow Brook Music Festival - Rochester Hills

This was a great first year festival. The best part of this festival was clearly the outstanding indie line-up. Honestly, I can't stress that enough. From top to bottom, there was excellent music everywhere and thats all I ever want from a festival. If you keep booking like that, this will be a success. This was a festival tailored to people who love music. Downside is that there needed more food stands. The beer tent ran out of a lot of good beers very early. Come back to Michigan next year!

    SIGUR ROS was AMAZING

by Palmlady on 9/19/13Meadow Brook Music Festival - Rochester Hills

We knew it would be a GREAT show b/c this band is GREAT. We do need to learn Icelandic. We also LOVED having NO SECURITY fence. We were against the stage. My daughter really likes catching the "mike" stands when Jonsi bumps them over.

    Really Well Done!

by Meldarko on 9/19/13Meadow Brook Music Festival - Rochester Hills

Well done Laneway. This was the most well organized event I think I've ever been to. The only sound issues I can recall were a very small moment of buzz in the Warpaint set. Other than that, each set was flawless. The line-up was amazing and The National... Oh my God! So good! My only complaint was pitting Warpaint against Chvrches, but overlaps are sometimes unavoidable. Thanks! I hope to see this festival return every year. Meadowbrook is such a great place for this.

    An Incredible Event!

by Anonymous on 9/18/13Meadow Brook Music Festival - Rochester Hills

Too many highlights to mention--Sigur Ros and The National were amazing, as to be expected, but Washed Out was also at the top of my list--what a great show during the sunset. Hope to see the Laneway Festival back in Detroit in the future!

    Great festival!

by Nicknamedave on 9/17/13Meadow Brook Music Festival - Rochester Hills

Really really enjoyed Laneway Detroit. All of the bands/groups/DJs I saw were awesome and the pork tacos kicked butt! The stages were close to one another but not too close to where the sound overlapped. Parking was really close to the festival enterence and it only took 10 minutes to get out of the lot. I'm ready for Laneway Detroit 2014!

    A GREAT 1 day Festival

by Mhothem on 9/17/13Meadow Brook Music Festival - Rochester Hills

The stages were set up great. The Michigan weather was beautiful (sunny and 70 degrees or so). The Union Group food was wonderful and a deal! They ran out of the craft beers by 2pm but one could always get Guiness. They could have had more food companies and more beverages and more art (yes the art was great too!) BUT THE MUSIC!!!! What a line up! Haerts, Youth Lagoon, Phosphorescent,My Brightest Diamond, Warpaint, Frightened Rabbit, Chvrches, Chet Faker,Savages, Deerhunter, Dismemberment Plan, Solange, Washed Out, Flume, Matthew Dear, Sigor Ros and The National were the only bands I saw in this one dayshow. Had VIP tickets NO VIP Tent, No VIP at most stages only in pavillion,No seting except in pavillion. VIP needs work for the extra $$ one spends. But the show was great!

This was the best festival I have ever attended. There setup was great, the stages were easy to get to and there was plenty of room. The bands were fantastic. Food and beer was good too. I would definitely attend this festival again. My favorite sets were CHVRCHES, Run the Jewels, Solange, and Washed Out.
