    Another Great Soulful Symphony Event

by JohnF on 7/3/19Merriweather Post Pavilion - Columbia

The Soulful Symphony performance at the Merriweather Post Pavilion was excellent. The orchestra and vocalists were world class. And hats off to the sound crew, the orchestra and vocalists were balanced well for the open pavilion setting. Congratulations to the entire symphony team on a great night!

This was an awesome performance!!!! Well worth the money.

by Benny on 7/2/19Merriweather Post Pavilion - Columbia

The soloists were great, the orchestra was wonderful! The sound was a bit loud because everyone was mic'd up. But other than that, it was a wonderful show. I have already purchased tickets to their September 2019 performance.

    Great Program, wonderful staff.

    by J. W. on 7/2/19Merriweather Post Pavilion - Columbia

We did not get enough info to know where to park our Handicapped van and when we got there, the spaces did not allow us to use the wheelchair ramp. You need more spaces for vans with ramps. For first time attenders there was no information about the terrain so we mistakenly brought the manual. One remarkable policeman pushed my adult son's chair for us all the way to our seats! We are all seniors, so it would have been very difficult for us. I don't see how wheelchairs can use any of the rows below JJ. There are only steps!!! If this is true , Ticketmaster should convey this to buyers. THE CONCERT WAS PHENOMENAL. The Director was amazing and I loved his "Color" pieces . The singers and the Motown group and especially Mr. DuBois!!! I will need earplugs for my sensitivity to loudness next time, but we will be back. We had to leave early because my son who has multiple disabilities was really tired. However, when we got just outside the gate, a wonderfully kind employee offered to push my son's chair back to the parking lot. The next morning my son said to me when I first went into his room, "I was just thinking about how much fun we had last night!" That was all I could hope for! Thank you!

    Great Concert by Soulful Symphony

by Renee on 7/2/19Merriweather Post Pavilion - Columbia

I loved the music but, there should have been a brief intermission for people to go to the rest room. A 15 minute intermission is suggested.

Darin Atwater and Soulful Symphony are amazing!

by K. Taylor on 7/2/19Merriweather Post Pavilion - Columbia

From beginning to end this experience was absolutely amazing. The song choice, the musicians/vocalists, the entire production —- one of the best moments I’ve ever experienced. And when you understand how powerful it is that this ensemble exists (a predominately African American orchestra with vocalists), the experience is magnified. They are in every sense of the word, disruptors —- and I am so grateful for every opportunity to experience this ensemble. I cannot wait to attend the next one. Getting my tickets now.

    Great Music Average Venue

by C. on 7/2/19Merriweather Post Pavilion - Columbia

The show was spectacular! Vibrant and engaging music but the stage lighting was a big disappointment. Performers were often in the dark. Spotlight was off and oftentimes the lights were pointed at the audience, nearly blinding my 80 year old father. Entry into venue was slow given that they only had one person at the gate with a scanner and it wasn't working. We were 5th in line but it took over 10 minutes to get inside. When we went to the concession stand, 3 of the 4 items weren't ready. We were told to wait for 15 minutes. The show was definitely a 5, except for the poor stage lighting, but the venue was only a 3!
