Songhoy Blues Tickets

The band was very talented, engaging and uplifting. The small venue lent itself to the genre of music and helped create the vibe. Even though the audience couldn’t understand the African lyrics, the heart and soul of the music was easily translatable. The band requested that the folding chairs that had been arranged for seating be removed to make a dance floor. The audience complied and never stopped moving. Portland Ovations made a great choice to sponsor this performance and chose the perfect venue.

Great show by Songhoy Blues. They are tight and deliver the Malian rocking goods. I highly recommend them.

Songhoy Blues is a blues band from Mali, their music is an interesting fusion of traditional Malian and blues music. There is an undeniable bluesy sound, however the bass line and progressions switch from traditional blues to a more fast paced upbeat rhythm - which I can only assume is their Songhoy influence. The lead singer is very energetic and can get even the most dull crowd dancing! It's hard to stand still while enjoying a live performance by Songhoy Blues. Excited for them to create more music.
