About

With 10 Tony® nominations including Best Musical, SOMETHING ROTTEN! is a “big, fat hit!” (New York Post). Set in the ‘90s – the 1590s – this hilarious smash tells the story of Nick and Nigel Bottom (Tony® nominee Rob McClure and Broadway’s Josh Grisetti), two brothers who are desperate to write their own hit play while the "rock star" Shakespeare (Tony® nominee Adam Pascal) keeps getting all the hits. When a local soothsayer foretells that the future of theatre involves singing, dancing and acting at the same time, Nick and Nigel set out to write the world’s very first MUSICAL! With its heart on its ruffled sleeve and sequins in its soul, SOMETHING ROTTEN! is “The Producers + Spamalot + The Book of Mormon. Squared!” (New York Magazine).

Adam Pascal should have his name on the marquis!!!

by Closer2God on 8/3/17Oriental Theatre Chicago - Chicago

I really enjoyed the show more than I expected to. The story line was fun. It was silly but very entertaining. I was smiling or laughing the entire show. I saw it twice in one week. Adam's voice was so perfect for the part of Shakespeare. Huzzah!

    Something Rotten was Something Spectacular!

by Terrace2U on 8/3/17Oriental Theatre Chicago - Chicago

I went to this production not knowing what to expect at all. What a sweet surprise to be laughing out loud through the whole show! Truly AMAZING! Incredibly talented cast all around! The only recommendation I would share is that this is NOT an appropriate event for young children.

    Something Rotten is unforgettable!

by Rizzo127 on 7/27/17Oriental Theatre Chicago - Chicago

This was our first time at the Oriental Theater but our 4th time seeing this show. We saw it twice on Broadway, once in Boston and now in Chicago. My son and I love this show so much we bought the soundtrack and the piano book. Rob McClure portrays Nick Bottom so well I can't picture anyone else in this role. The venue was very nice and comfortable, and not a bad seat in the house. Please do yourself a favor and see this show at a city near you!

Saw this in Broadway and loved it. Was a little nervous to see the touring show because we loved it in NY so much. But it was every bit as good. The talent was insane!!!! What a fun, humorous enjoyable show

    Amazing show

by MattJJackson1 on 7/26/17Oriental Theatre Chicago - Chicago

Something Rotten is by far the best show I've seen. I saw is on a Tuesday night and went back and saw it again the following Sunday. The only potential downside about about this show is if you are not very familiar with other broadway shows and Shakespear you may miss some of the references and jokes.
