About

SOMEKINDAWONDERFUL IN CONCERT:

Somekindawonderful is a rising indie grunge-rock act that's becoming known for their animated live performances and infinitely catchy songs. Whether they're telling a story backwards on their hit "Reverse" or covering Notorious B.I.G.'s "Juicy", the band commands the stage with infectious energy and incredible showmanship during their must-see shows. The band continually has ticket buyers coming out in droves for their must-see tours, where they play original material from their self-titled 2014 debut as well as creative covers of hip hop tracks like Tupac's "California Love".

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Somekindawonderful started out when frontman Jordy Towers relocated to Ohio after his record deal fell through in his native Los Angeles. He stumbled upon Ben Schigel and Matt Gibson who were jamming at a local bar, and the trio went back to the studio for a spontaneous recording session that resulted in the track "Reverse". Now a five-piece, Somekindawonderful is taking over the airwaves with that song, earning major radio airplay nationwide since its Top 40 debut on the Billboard charts. Somekindawonderful possesses a bold sound that blends soul with rock, and the promising act puts it on full display during their intense live performances.

    Best. Concert. Ever.

by ChrissiRose on 11/6/14House of Blues, Anaheim - Anaheim

I've been a fan of these guys since they formed. I was finally able to see them when they opened for New Politics and I have to say it was by far one of the best concerts I have ever been to. They have so much energy when they are performing, It's a lot of fun to watch. Their songs are so addicting that once you start to listen to them you won't want to stop. I was able to meet Jordy after the show and he is one of the nicest guys ever. I'm expecting great things from them in the future. I can't wait to see them again on their own headlining tour.

    Captivating and something different!

by SomeKindaAnne on 11/2/149:30 Club, Cat's Cradle, Masquerade - Washington DC, Carrboro, NC, Atlanta GA

A few months ago I bought tickets to a few of the New Politics Everywhere I Go Tour shows. I figured that I should check out the opening acts (Bad Suns and SKW) before the show. I heard Reverse on the radio a few times, but that song didn't make me want to rush out and buy tickets to see them. Then I heard Burn... and Caveman... and Shine on Me... and Amaretto (you get the point) Instantly hooked! So after falling in love with the 12 tracks on their debut album I was beyond stoked to see them! All of their songs have a different vibe to them which keeps the album interesting and exciting with each listen. A few weeks later I was in the second row of the pit ready to find out if I liked them live as much as I LOVED their album. From start to finish I was mesmerized with their show! I didn't even take pictures, because I was so caught up in their performance! They are just fantastic! They are stars on the RISE! Jordy knows how to captivate the audience. Sarah's vocals are amazing and her stage presence is captivating. (Matt) Gibson is beyond words amazing on the guitar, from the ukuele to a double neck. Justin has a great vibe and Ben is phenomenal on drums! I was blown away and instantly became a fan. Every song was unique, which made it hard to listen to the next band who kept to the same genre. I was restless for more SKW! The band's fans are called the Butterfly Militia. I have never gotten wrapped up with the whole band following thing; KatyCats, Beliebers, Newbs, Smilers, exc... but I am proud to be a part of the Butterfly Militia! For the last few weeks I have been sharing their album with anyone who will listen. I am confident after you see them live you will be the same way. I have gotten to see them three times in the last month and I am even considering making a five hour trip to see them again in a few weeks! I had the opportunity to meet most of them before the most recent show I saw and they were some of the nicest most down to earth people I have ever met. They love their fans and it definitely shows on stage and off.
