The smooth jazz festival is our favorite show of the year. It is very affordable and the performers really put on a great show. The Rippingtons, with Russ Freeman and guest, Paul Taylor was fantastic. After talking with people from Orlando we met there, that also look forward to the smooth jazz fest every year, we believe the event was not promoted as well as it should have. It's a great show every year and it was disappointing it wasn't more attended.

    The Rippingtons were Outstanding

by LakelandRaysfan on 5/2/11Coachman Park - Clearwater

The Rippingtons were at their best, playing a nice selection of newer and classic songs. Keep up the good work, Russ! Tizer was very good as well.

Shocked at the low turnout! Loved the wide open spaces, though!

overall I thought evrything, except parking(signage or information on where to park) was great. the misic was awsome however, if is was not for the young man BK Jackson, the show would have been average at best. I never heard him or of him until then and I have to tell you he was incredible! he brought life, real life to the event. jessy j was good but perdictable and stiff in my opinion. BK Jackson was the life of the show. it is a shame that he is from the area and was not featured but a last minute addition. He should be featured sometime in the near future because after he performed, I could have went home. the rest was boaring at best and the last act almost put my wife and I to sleep. she was good but almost depressing.

Les Sabler was smoooth. Oleta Adams incredicable voice & personality. Spencer Day was unique & nostalagic. Hard to describe. Very entertaining. B K Jackson was amazing. Yes he reminds me of Eric Darius, whom I love. Interacted well with the crowd. All performers left me with wanting to hear more. Extremely entertaining. Unbelievable deal at an exceptional price. ( we purchased tickets ) But it was free other wise.

BK Jackson and Jessy J were phenomenal!

by BORR on 4/25/10Coachman Park - Clearwater

What a joy BK Jackson is. He is an incredibly talented young man. This is my third time seeing him in concert and I am never dissapointed. Awesome young man. I saw Jessy J in concert two years ago and wasn't impressed but boy what a difference two years make. She absolutely blew me away. She has a fantastic backup band, and she willingly showcase the talents of each of these fine musicians. I really really enjoyed her concert.

    smooth jazz fest

    by josephs54 on 4/25/10Coachman Park - Clearwater

The opening act was cool. Then things got hot with the sun and an on fire BK Jackson. However, the crowd was almost put comotose by the extremely too laid back Spencer Day. His boring songs along with the heat put me to sleep. I and the crowd was jump started back to life by the sassy Jesse J. After The Day Debacle, Oleta Adams laid back style was not what the Doctor ordered. The fact that she performed her entire set seated at her keyboard took energy from her perfomance and the crowd.
