San Francisco psych-rockers Sleepy Sun have built a dedicated fanbase with their fuzzed-out, sundrenched sound. Featuring effects-laden vocals by Bret Constantino and deliciously heavy percussion from drummer Bryan Tice, the band's impassioned, euphoric live shows have generated significant buzz, landing them on tour with acts like the Black Angels and Arctic Monkeys. Hot on the heels of the 2014 release of Maui Tears, the band once again takes to the road, treating fans to hot and heavy renditions of new material alongside classics like "New Age" and "Marina."
Formed in 2005 at UC Santa Cruz, the band got their start playing garage rock as Mania before transitioning to psychedelia and renaming themselves Sleepy Sun in 2007. Their debut LP Embrace was a critical success, earning praise from outlets like Pitchfork and landing them on tour with British rockers Arctic Monkeys. Sophomore album Fever followed in 2010, earning the band another round of praise with muscular singles like "Marina" and "Wild Machines." Following the 2014 release of Maui Tears, the band will treat fans to their acclaimed live show on a string of highly anticipated tour dates.
