About

Originating in Huntington Park, CA in 1981 as a cover band in the head-banging scene, Slayer has become one of the most important metal bands in rock history, commonly referred to in the Big 4 alongside Anthrax, Megadeath and Metallica. Their first two albums, 1983’s Show No Mercy and 1985’s Hell Awaits, were released on Metal Blade Records, before they signed to Rick Rubin’s Def Jam label in 1986. There they released their third album Reign in Blood, which caught mainstream attention and has proved to be a genre-defining thrash metal album, influencing countless bands as well as the subgenres of death metal and black metal. Tom Araya’s shouted vocals and graphic lyrics are thought-provoking and articulate, while their tight musical structures combining hardcore rock’s rhythms and speed metal’s frenzied pace generate fast and aggressive songs, intensified through the use of double bass drumming, and unconventional but engaging guitar riffs. This all-out rock offensive has been wowing ticket holders for over three decades, selling out concerts across the globe. Over the years, Slayer has been nominated for five Grammy awards, most recently 2009’s World Painted Blood, and continues to tour while working on new material.

  • Fantastic Experience At Hershey Park Stadium

by Josh Shepardson on 9/29/25Hersheypark Stadium - HersheyRating: 5 out of 5

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Hershey Park Stadium. They were on the ball at every stop. I was most impressed by the security staff behind the rail. They were cordial and professional, making sure the patrons near the rail were safe. They also offered everyone along the rail free water, which went above and beyond my other experiences at other venues.

  • Slayer was excellent.

Showed up a little late. Parked directly behind the stage and tailgated with my best girl. 3 minutes to the entrance gate. Suicidal just started, sound man should be shot. Was horrible sound. Next was Knocked Loose. Horrible. Enough said. Slayer.......Extremely awesome. Can't say enough. It was everything and more than I had hoped for.

Awesome day for a Venue I've never been to the only down fall was the black towering obstruction that was dead middle of the stage towards the rear. I get it it's for the visual backdrop up on stage but maybe construct something more of an archway so it opens up the stage for those in the pit area. I'll definitely be checking out another show in Hershey again.

  • As always, Slayer delivered

Slayer, as always, delivered a great, hard hitting set that longtime fans would appreciate. This was my 34th time seeing Slayer, needless to say my favorite band, and I cherish each show knowing it may be the last time I get a chance to see F’n SLAYER!!

  • Slayer are still Kings of Thrash

by Adam on 9/23/25Hersheypark Stadium - HersheyRating: 5 out of 5

🤘🏻🤘🏻Wow! Awesome concert and a perfect evening for real heavyweights in metal. Exodus, Cavelera, Power Trip, Suicidal Tendencies, Knocked Loose and the almighty SLAAAYYEERRR!! Slayer is still the best. 20 blistering songs in 90 minutes. All the hits and a few rarities. Tom Araya sounds phenomenal. No let off or faking it like that bozo in motley fool. It's all perfectly delivered and in sync with Kerry King & Gary Holt. Paul Bostaph perfectly in time, thundering on the drums. I saw them on their final world wide tour and I think they were just as impressive now as back then. I really loved hearing 2 classic albums from Exodus and Cavelera. Both bands sounded great and it's nice to see my heros still out there just kicking butt. Power Trip sounds fantastic with Seth Gilmore in place of the late great Riley Gale. Lots of energy and I'm glad they're touring again. Suicidal Tendencies, Mike Muir are still going strong. Always a fun time seeing them. I'd love to hear new music from them. Knocked Loose is not my style. Sorry. It's all in the vocals, so..... Back to Slayer. Great seeing them again. I hope they continue with one offs and festivals. Slayer is still just as fierce and potent as ever
