About

Citing Gwen Stefani, Madonna, The Runaways and Nancy Sinatra as influences, singer and songwriter Sky Ferreira combines them all into her dancey up-tempo pop music with catchy hooks, electronic production and rock flourishes. Her full-length debut studio album Night Time, My Time was released in October 2013 with the single “You’re Not the One,” and she is set to support Miley Cyrus on her worldwide 2014 Bangerz Tour with Icona Pop. Ferreira played for ticket buyers in the U.K. in early 2013, as well as headlining her own U.S. tour with the likes of High Highs, How to Dress Well, and Smith Westerns, and opening concerts for Vampire Weekend. She signed with Parlophone Records in July 2009 and put out the singles “17,” “Obsession” and “One” in 2010. She released her first EP, As If!, in March 2011 on Capitol Records featuring the single “Sex Rules.” Her second EP, Ghost, was released in October 2012 with the synthy dance-pop single “Everything Is Embarrassing,” which was lauded as one of 2012’s best songs.

    Great show

by isabella on 12/13/23Paradise Rock Club presented by Citizens - Boston

Sky was so great on stage, you could tell she was actually moved by the support from her fans. Her voice is so beautiful, I waited 10 years to see her live and she didn’t disappoint. I hope to see her perform again soon!

    Pls arrive one time

by Astroplastic on 12/13/23Paradise Rock Club presented by Citizens - Boston

Sky is an icon but it would have been nice if she had arrived on time and played her full set. There was obvious sound issues for her inner ears which is on paradise rock club and not sky but maybe with a sound check that could have been resolved. I would never go to Paradise rock club again unless I really loved the artist which is why I’ve unfortunately been there twice now.

    3 hours late

by Chocopup on 12/12/23Theatre of Living Arts - Philadelphia

The show was listed as 8-9:30 so I bought tickets for myself, my teenage daughter and her friend to go. We stood around for 3 hours waiting for the artist to come on. Finally we left since we live 90 minutes away and no one at the venue could tell us when or if the artist would take the stage. It’s stupid and disrespectful to the fans to make people wait around for hours. The next day my daughter saw social media posts from 1 am, that the artist actually played. Seriously- I wouldn’t have bought tickets if the show was advertised to start at 11 or 11:30 pm.

    The show was meh

by laur on 12/12/23Theatre of Living Arts - Philadelphia

I usually don't write reviews for artists but this show in particular was so poorly run and I've unfortunately heard the same from other fans. First the show was listed Doors at 7pm / Show at 8pm. I got to the venue around 7:45 and no one was allowed in yet. Got in at around 8:15 and waited until 10 for Sky to come on with no opener. She has a good voice but I could barely hear her over the blaring base/reverb to the point where I left the pit and stood in the back of the venue for the last 20 minutes of the show (it was barely an hour long set). Not sure how much was the venue's fault vs Sky's team but it was a pretty lousy show as someone who goes to concerts all the time. I've been at 50 person capacity shows that were significantly better than this. :/

    Worth the wait

by TS on 12/3/23Emo's Austin - Austin

For any other artist I might have left the venue since Sky didn't come on until closer to 11. A venue employee announced it was a venue issue but Sky rarely tours and I've been wanting to see her for 10+ years. Another issue I had with the venue is there were no ear plugs available. I usually bring my own but recently lost my reusable pair. Kinda weird that a concert venue doesn't have foam ear plugs ready for concert goers.

Sky Ferreira at The Queen in Wilmington DE

    by Will on 9/21/23

When I had saw Sky announce her summer tour dates and a random notification alarming me, she would be in Wilmington, I was ecstatic. I became a fan of Sky during quarantine and learned more about this long-awaited sophomore album in the process. So, the unknowingness of when this next project gets released it would be good time to see her because when would this opportunity come again. I arrived just a little after doors had opened and secured my spot on the floor, 2 rows of people away from barricade (which is really good). Now before I get into before Sky comes on and the show itself, I did attempt to get merchandise, which there being a long sleeve shirt and a short sleeve shirt with cool designs to promote Sky's next record, but sadly they had told me that they had received a suitcase full of merchandise that was left from the previous night. Which based on some sleuthing the sizes ranged from small to large. Obviously, Sky does not have the financial support to be popping out tons of merchandise, but the size could have ranged bigger. Nonetheless the show, doors open at 7pm and Sky comes on around 9:30ish maybe even later, no opener. Which the previous show had a DJ set as an opener, so I didn't fully mind the lack of an opener at my show. Sky comes on and some technical difficulty happening before she even starts but gets solved in under a minute. Show runs smoothly with some hiccups like just needing to restart the song. The mixing sounded good at times there were some audio issues but overall, you could hear her throughout the whole set. The show is very minimal, some colored lighting is all at this venue in specific. Some reviews of Sky's shows on Ticketmaster claim she seemed out of it and not much fan interaction, which I can gladly say that was not the case at my show. She interacted with us between almost every song. I made eye contact with her a good couple of times during the show which first I doubted, but someone I had befriended at the show said she was making eye contact with me. Then when she popped her sunglasses off once in a while it confirmed to me, she did make eye contact with me. And I met her very briefly while she was leaving the venue, but her team was rushing her to get to the next city, New York, but it seemed she wanted to interact with fans that waited. Sky's shows are very dependent on crowd energy for how Sky will interact. The audience in Wilmington seemed very there for Sky, not just because it was a cheap show. There were fans who have been long term and newer fans like me. Fans sang almost the entire set with the exception of unreleased Masochism tracks, her official released Masochism tracks, and the covers. Which was weird with the official released Masochism tracks, but nonetheless, it seemed like Sky didn't care too much about that and still enjoyed herself and warmed up over the course of the opening track of the tour, Boys. I'm personally seeing her again on the winter tour in December, which I am so excited for and will be getting barricade this time! If you love Sky, flaws and all, you will love the show. Sky obviously has struggles like everyone else and it seems like it can get in the way of her performances, but we can hope she has a good support system around her and continue supporting her instead of just demanding for her to release things to boost her career when it's important she is in a good space to be creative and full of energy in her own way.

    Great return to the stage!

    by david uribe on 7/12/23

I was there for her show in San Diego and then her first night at the Vermont in LA. She was definitely a great vocalist and her look was fantastic. Her bleached blonder hair with her shades, ugh she looked like a rockstar and im so happy she came to perform at smaller venues/theaters because its a much more intimate and better vibe for us all. LA was a much better crowd and better show overall because her sound in SD was a little off I must say. But to be able to perform an LP and even other songs that are 10+ years old and have everyone singing along is absolutely amazing! Sky was definitely welcomed back to the stage and I loved every single second of IT!! I even met her after the show in SD and she was so sweet! Heres to her releasing more music because shes phenomenal! Free Sky Ferreira! #freeskyferriera

The venue really did her dirty

    by Roxy on 7/10/23

I was standing near the barricade on stage right and it was very hard to hear her. The sound delay on the first sound sounded awful. There were points in the show that I couldn’t hear her. The mic volume was soooo low, the band was drowning her out. Despite all this she did wonderful and try to get through the show. I could see she did looked defeated. A sound check would be great next time!
